The mayor of Vilnius, Lithuania was so upset with luxury cars parking in the city's bicycle lanes he held a demonstration to express his displeasure.

This Is Not an Onion Parody of How Fox News Would Cover Obama’s Birthday

It is, in fact, how Fox News covered Obama's birthday. The subtle racial coding of this presentation might lead you to believe that this was an all-black gathering, but in fact, there are a few other people Fox could have highlighted. From Fox's own rundown of attendants:

Patrick Gaspard, UBS Investment Bank President Robert Wolf, FCC Chair Julius Genachowski, Leader Nancy and Paul Pelosi, Secretary Tim Geithner, Secretary Arne Duncan, U.S. Trade Rep. Ron Kirk, Secretary Hillary Clinton, Attorney General Eric Holder, Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, Rep./DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, former Virginia Gov. and DNC Chair Tim Kaine, Anita Dunn and Bob Bauer, Robert Gibbs, David Axelrod, David Plouffe, Valerie Jarrett, Michael Strautmanis, Pete Rouse, Bill Daley, Deputy Chief of Staff Alyssa Mastromonaco, Denis McDonough, John Brennan, Rahm Emanuel, Tina Tchen, White House chef Sam Kass, Julianna Smoot, Marty Nesbitt, Eric Whitaker, Linda Douglass, and many more.

Now, again, you might not realize it from the headline, but none of the live performers were actually hip-hop artists. Jay-Z came strictly as a guest. According to Fox's own story, there were performances by "R&B singer Ledisi, and Herbie Hancock. Stevie Wonder came up at the end and sang a medley ending in 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours.'" So where does the hip-hop part come in? Well, "DJ Cassidy played Motown, hip hop, and ’70s and ’80s R&B." Which is basically like every white person's wedding ever, by the way.

You may be asking for trouble when you commission taxidermy work from someone who is unfamiliar with the species. That was just the case for King Frederick I of Sweden in 1731. The lion was a gift, but after it died, the pelt and bones were presented to a taxidermist who had never seen a lion. You see the result looks more like a cartoon character than the king of beasts. The stuffed lion is still on display at Gripsholm’s Castle.

Ive read a bit further and that might not be the beast from the photo.

There is however a full internet search ongoing for it here if someone wants to trawl through. Apparently the HMNH stands for Harvard museum of natural history?????

Parky will know.

On a similar note, the superb Horniman Museum (titter, etc.) here in Sahf Lahndan has a huge walrus in one of its rooms that was prepared for show by someone who hadn't seen one before, so it's absolutely overstuffed to the point of bursting.
