Jumbo Screen..

..at SJP (or Direct Sports @ St James' Park) according to Dekka L on .com.

I'm just a tad disappointed I wont get to see it. Oh well, it'll be even tougher to stay away if they do get one, but I'll just have to take the extra hardship like a man.

btw, that's a Jumbo Screen, not a Jimbo Screen. I don't think there will be any porn on it, though one never knows due to the revenue opportunities. Tonight, for one night only: Debbie Does Direct Sports @ St James' Park.

full of shit, I thought every penny was going to be spent on players?

A giant screen showing Sports Direct adverts in between long lingering shots of the fat man will surely be enough to put most people off a half time pie.

They've clearly sat down and thought "How can we make even more money out of this stadium renaming business? How about we spent the cash we initially receive on a bloody big screen where we can charge extra for adverts? Genius!"

I immediately got the idea of it playing Ashley propaganda when I read the thread. If I had the external mouse then I would knock up a Photoshop of what Ashley propaganda might look like, but then again I have a long birthday-day ahead with nothing in particular to do!

One thing I used to like when going to SJP was the lack of video screens. I find them absolutely awful. What are they good for? To show the score? Er, appart from those suffering of Alzheimer's anyone not knowing the actual score of a game shouldn't be in the stadium anyway. Team sheets etc. are also not really worth it. But especially with the new technology all those screens bring is causing eye pain by showing annoying blinking adverts all the time. For example here in Stuttgart they had them hanging just behind the goals so you hardly could focus on what is happening without getting distracted by the latest offers from insurance companies etc.

Absolutely horrible idea.

I wouldn't complain if they were to make money out of a big screen, that's beneficial to some fans, not an insult and a different thing all together.

Nor would I, it's the manner they're going about it though.

'Yes we're going to rename SJP but don't worry about that, just look at this big shiny TV we're giving you!'
