Craig 6700
Luton Town have named former player Richard Money as their new manager following the departure of Mick Harford. Money, who spent one year at Kenilworth Road as a player, has left his role at Newcastle as club's academy director to take up the role. Alan Neilson, who has been acting as caretaker manager since the departure of Harford, will work as Money's assistant. The former Walsall boss has set his sights on guiding Luton back to the Football League at the first time of asking. "I've seen the squad here and there is a huge amount of ability - there's no question about that," he said. "They have been very unlucky with injuries to be fair, but you have to deal with that. The players create a lot of chances and they are solid at the back. The fans can help and build their confidence - be that 12 man. "There's no doubt this team is capable of finishing top at the end of the season. That's my focus." Craig 6700
According to Wikipedia it's him.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Neilson Although he came through our youth policy rather than from non-league IIRC.

Aye, I think you're right. It was Andy Hunt who came from n/l I think. I think I read he ended up in Belize, for some strange reason.

Still there too http://www.greendragonbelize.com/aboutus.html I remember once standing in the Gallowgate and exclaiming "Andy Hunt? More like Andy CUNT!". This young lass in front of me (no, she was watching the match, not on her knees) turned around and angrily said "He's not a cunt. I like him"

Neville Neville Neville 0
"Money leaves Newcastle" - the Ashley regime summed up in 3 words.... Anyway, will be interested to see if we try and poach someone well renowned as a youth coach. That will cost money, and we know what we're like at the moment about spending it, but then again Ashley's grand plan was to follow the Arsenal/Villa model... and we'll need a director of the academy for that. Plus, I'm not sure if there's anyone left to promote from within, maybe Llambias Would love to see Glenn Roeder back, as he was doing really well before he got the main job. Would be a bit of a comedown for him (including salary) but if he's not doing anything else Edited October 31, 2009 by Neville Neville Neville
