Guest alex
Other than just getting away from a club in a mess on both occasions I think it probably is a coincidence. O'Leary was manager the first time he went and I doubt if there's many from the first team coaching staff then still there now.
tinofbeans 91
true enough. but, our decent players over the last few seasons ( and i can count them on one finger) have all been ground down and worn out, whether by fan related insults (or not wanting to be here) or training facility related injury, or indeed just poor coaching. we've never since SBR and steve clarke, had a top 2 ( manager and head coach) that have improved our players. Playing for a poor side will do that to players. Especially if it's a poor side getting 50k at home.
tinker 0
he's s good young player with some nice touches of skill. still reckon his lack of pace and poor delivery will prevent him being a top class winger. i always thought he would be better used as an attacking central midfielder but it seems none of his managers have agreed How right you were, Milner is made for the central midfield and has shown this in his last 2 games, all he needs to do now is show it against Manure on Saturday. Good luck for promotion btw, your doing rather well.
Asprilla 96
I'm sure he used to be used in the middle for England under 21s and always seemed to be involved with the goals. Apart from his lack of pace and poor crossing though he's an excellent winger.
Guest alex
Been saying for ages he's got the engine for CM whereas his lack of pace is a problem when he plays wide.
NJS 4446
I think he's a decent footballer at playing short/key passes which is why I could see it working in the right setup - his problem as a winger imo was not enough quality delivery. Barney 0
I didn't really rate Milner as a winger(lack of pace/shit crosser), but defo thought he could due a job in the middle, due to workrate and his shot.
Richie J 0
My reservation about him becming a centre mid was the fact he used to play with his head down most of the time - you can get away with that on the wing but not in the middle. Definitely got the work rate for it though... Don't know til you try though, so I was definitely in favour of giving him a shot there before he left, just to see. I still think 13 mil was too much to turn down though. Pity we didn't make the most of that money. I hope he goes on to do well, he seemed like a decent lad.
