Andrew 4969
well considering you're not allowed in the building without wearing a neck thing with your photo ID card on it, which is checked as you go in then I can see why I actually agree with AA here, those are the rules, stick to them
Jusoda Kid 1
Comment at the bottom: This is the UK. If a women goes to a muslim country she has to wear a head scarf, and act accordingly.
Tom 14021
Aye full of wisdom that bloke. go back to a country that allows it. This is the UK. If a women goes to a muszlim country she has to wear a head scarf, and act accordingly. Question: could I walk into a bank and keep my motorcycle helmet on? no! How would my old uni have felt if i kept my motorcycle helmet on during lecturers? It is the college rules (and the rules in our society) that people can be identified at all times. We dont want people wondering around with masks on, hiding their faces, unless there is a medical reason for it. Anyone could put that thing on! We do try to accomodate a lot of things; they even said that they could wear turbin on motorbikes instead of helmets! But this mask is many steps too far! What if I claim to be a vicking? Does that means I should be allowed to carry my sword on me all the time? It just get rediculus! Jesus Wept.

In a nutshell - I totally agree with you on this one Wacky. If she wants to go there she has to abide by their rules.
Tom 14021
I was only messing about there Wacky For me she should be allowed to wear it. She said she would take it off for cases requiring identification so I don't see what the problem is. A motorcycle helmet isn't a religious item that holds any belief, nor is it necessary for a college to employ the same security regulations as a bank. However It does say she wishes to go into the medical profession, I don't think I would like my Doctor to be wearing a burka. That Viking bit had me creased too by the way, what an analogy. Andrew 4969
brand new building, the doors dont even all lock yet but its still fully kitted out with millions of pounds worth of gear they're being particularly observant of security rules so far which is understandable even if I do think its a pain when I'm there and keep getting asked to show my ID card
Tom 14021
Well if they see a lass in a Burka running off with a laptop I can't imagine the identification will be too hard.
Andrew 4969
Well if they see a lass in a Burka running off with a laptop I can't imagine the identification will be too hard. so what if someone else thinks, "hey I can get away with that, wander in past security in a veil and walk out with whatever I want"? you're assuming they want it off her because they think she is going to start stealing stuff
