peasepud 59
If you're taking the train to an away game, try this before booking your tickets. Go onto nationalrail.co.uk and find the direct train you would get. So for example on Saturday. Newcastle to Nottingham leaving at 09:40 and arriving in Nottingham at 13:00 And the price, a single today for Saturday would be £64, you cannot book it on an advance price. Check out where it stops on the way, in this case its direct to Chesterfield and then onto Nottingham. Then do the same journey planner but from Newcastle to Chesterfield Train comes up as leaving 09:40 and arriving in Chesterfield at 12:06, you can book in advance and its £36 then try Chesterfield to Nottingham, leaves at 12:22 and arrives Nottingham 13:00 and its £9 total cost £45, a saving of £19 and you can book in advance! you dont even have to get off the train, you can pick both sets of tickets up at Newcastle. swizzling bastards! smoggeordie 0
You can even cut it down to individual stops. I think I got Boro to Birminham return for about 20 quid by doing Boro-Darlo-York-whatever-whatever-whatever-Derby-Birmingham all with individual tickets and the same on the return. Magic.
