blackandwhiteboy 0
Well what does everyone think? Surely he can't do any worse than the rest of them. I was reading this World Cup article earlier and it really serves to highlight the lack of quality that we have in that position. For example only 1 English keeper is first choice at a Premier League team currently in the top half of the table.

Sir Bob Almighty! 0
Better than Foster and Green, not better than James. 1. James 2. Harper 3. Foster IMO.

Green showed himself up after Saturday. Robinson and Carson made terrible errors in the Euro qualifiers, and they shouldn't be mentioned again. Guest alex
I think Harper shit himself a bit when he took over from Given last season so I'd be a bit worried about him starting against Brazil in a World Cup semi-final.

Think he's got fuck-all chance of being selected (when was the last chance that a League player was selected?), but if he was ... I think he'd grow in confidence to do it. Just start with the friendlies over the next 12 months and grow in the role. Do you think Capello ever will take the Almunia option?
AgentAxeman 169
tbh i dont think Harper is good enough even with all the shit goalkeepers about atm. i think we're all looking thro black n' white tinted specs here!!
TicTacWoe 0
tbh i dont think Harper is good enough even with all the shit goalkeepers about atm. i think we're all looking thro black n' white tinted specs here!! Agreed, and at the moment Robinson, Kirkland, Green and James are all better than him. None of these keepers are shit by the way, they're just not what you might call world class or whatever, and many countries have won the world cup with average keepers. Robinson's in very good form at the moment but he doesn't play well under pressure. James is probably the best bet but he still has those moments when he does something totally nuts. Then there's the Almunia situation, most other countries don't have any problem picking someone who has no connection to their country, so I don't see why England can't have one when it's in a position that they are weak in. If it was just on talent they would have been picked by now I'd have thought. Or at least approached. I think Almunia said he was interested at some point. Not sure about Cudicini. Sonatine 11273
Would have been in with a decent shout of getting picked if he hadn't spent most of his career on the bench, which was his choice tbf.
