Bottom of shields rd, Ed. Fucking sound bloke, if you don't want to talk he won't talk to you and if you do he'll have a bit craic. It's a barbers, but I once got talking to him about how he ended up cutting hair and he's a hairdresser by trade. Always takes his time and does your neck with a cut throat at the end.

Plus he's got fucking piles of Nuts and Zoo magazines to keep you busy whilst you wait.

I used to go to Eds a few years ago when he had the little shop on the corner and go along with all that. :wank:

I go to Jeffrey's. Local to me in Brentford. Always does a good job. Last time I was in there, about 3 weeks ago, I had a good chat with Marcus from the last Big Brother series. Lives round the corner from me apparently. Nice bloke, took a photo with my boy and swore fuck loads. Haircut cost £12. Pretty standard round here. I could get it done by the immigrant over the road for £8 but he's a proper clipper merchant. I prefer a bit of time and a good go with the cut throat round the back of your neck afterwards so it's worth the extra four nuggets. 2 round the back and sides, bit longer on top and try and cut out the grey bits (although it's getting harder these days).

A load of my mates went through a stage of going to a place in Kingston called Stones, they'd hand over the best part of £150 and let the bloke cut and colour however he fancied. Apparently you'd get a beer and a head massage from a little hotty who worked there, but they'd come out looking like someone had put a jackson pollock on their bonce.

:D

Thank God I'm from Newcastle!

B)

Unfortunately I'm not. Although I wish I was. If my wife ever bins me off though I'll be straight up to live with my aunt in Newcastle. I always feel much more at home in the north east, which is odd for someone who has lived in London for 28 years.

Do you know The Penguin MKSC?

As the porn star said to the bishop, come again?

The Penguin at Chelsea, Jason Marriner, he lives on your manor don't he?

Never heard him called that before, but as it happens I've met him a couple of times, he was a good mate of a fella I used to work with in an estate agents. I wouldn't say I know him mind, which I'm rather glad about. Played Sunday League against him a few times, he's not very mobile but has a decent touch and loves a tackle. The team he played for were all Chelsea fans, all over 35, and all mildly psychotic. I think there's clips of them playing in McIntyre Undercover. Also, I worked in the Mcdonalds that Donal McIntyre met him outside in that documentary at the time of filming. Dissapointed I didn't see myself in it.

Jason Marriner FACT: He lives in a road called Chelsea Close. Urban legend has it that he made sure he got a place in that road by making sure people moved out. Although I'm not sure how true that is.

Adagio for Strings is among his most popular compositions and widely considered a masterpiece of modern classical.

It's like anything else in life. You get what you pay for.

If you are of the short back and sides persuasion then any old mong could cut that. Henry's on High Bridge will do the job, but you'll invariably look like a chav. As a kid I remember the horror of the prospect of the sweeping boy in Henry's cutting my hair, he openly admitted he didn't know how to spell his own name!!!!

I've paid upwards of £40 on numerous occasions at a proper hairdressers and have been really happy with the cut.

I've paid £10 before and looked like a tool for a fortnight until it grew out.

In general though I pay £12 for a cut in a place in Caversham.

You get what you pay for. People readily pay for designer shirts and t-shirts, but you'll invariably still look a bit chavvy if you pair it with a £4 haircut.

Congrats Stevie on starting the gayest thread in toontastic history. There are 2 acceptable haircuts on a man. Shaved or short back and sides. Any barber in the North East can manage those 2 and if you pay over £6 you need your head seeing to.

What the fuck are people getting done for £40!? Blatantly getting blonde tips put in

How's it gay "recommend a barber"? If you read the opening post I abuse people who spend more than 15 quid on a barnet you mug.

My biceps more than make up for my wrists. And im sure your gay haircut distracts from both tbh :D

You wonder why people think you're a total tool. Maybe you should get a new screen name like Ivan Drago.

I've got a suit from Asda - only cost me £49 but it's absolutely spot on for work where if it gets wrecked, I'm not that arsed. I do have a decent suit that I use for weddings, funerals and all that.

If that's 'chavvy' in your opinion then you need to seriously get some help.

As for the car comparison, I've driven several Vauxhalls and several BMWs and hated them all. Just because it costs a bit more, doesn't necessarily make it better.

The phone comparison is ridiculous tttt

I never said that wearing an Asda suit was chavvy, I said you get what you pay for.

I said that people generally look chavvy in a £4 haircut. I'm sure there are exceptions to the rule, but this as far as I'm concerned remains valid. When I was a kid I went to Henry's and my hair was cut in all of 4 minutes and a pair of scissors never went near my head - and I know because I've got photographic evidence that I looked like a chav (regardless of the clothes/car I was in)

As I stated most of the time I pay £12 for a decent haircut. However on occasions I have paid considerably more, generally for job interviews, weddings, if I want a change etc. Which is no different to you wearing an Asda suit to work and a decent suit for weddings.

I haven't paid for a haircut since I was 16. Had ridiculous long hair for the best part of a decade and a home-composed Bronski Beat close shave ever since.

Puts a nail in the "the more you pay, the gayer you are" argument.

Or does it? :D

There's a reason we reclaimed the skinhead from the skinheads. Leaves us more money for extravagant cocktails.

Anyone who doesn't shave their own head while taking a healthy dose of cheese grater to the knob, is a cunt of the highest order and clearly loves it up the shitter.

EDIT: Except Marcus.

  • 2 years later...
I usually get mine done in the toon, there's a really good one along from where Woolworths used to be next to Ladbrokes, good barbers, but there's one kid out of the four, he is an absolute cock of a kid. He'll be about 33, mutters when he's talking, laughs at his own jokes, goes on about being in the Toy Army, and generally is in the top 10 most boring cunts I've ever spoken to, but he's so far up his arse he couldn't comprehend such status. He's the only thing that puts me off there, if he's not funny, or interesting just shut the fuck up and cut me hair you specky twat!!

I think I know the lad you mean.

If he's the one who gets the metro in from South Shields.

PP, Craig, Ant, Tom etc.... they've all been reading this thread in there, and they agree about this kid, cos a telt her the last time she was in, but the lad the neet, a played devils advocate and pretended I knew nowt, but he said maybe we should get in touch with the site and tell them to pipe down cos he's not even there now. Pet if ya reading ya lovely for 51. Anyway they want it pulled down.
