But it does go to show what bad judgments/conclusions people arrive at when they're obsessed by something iyam-and it really is as simple as that. Gets in the way of any sensible thought processes. I wouldn't go that far. Some things are better suited to women and some to men. Thats the way it is. As an employer you can also see the point of view that because a woman has kids you can lose continuity if you employ them. Again, that's not a slight it's just the way it is.

 

So it depends on if they do the same job and if their conditions of employment is the same.

 

The swearing or not swearing basically just comes down to manners and courtesy, I don't like women who swear like troopers so I don't swear when I'm with them.

I think attitudes to women in this country are better than some other countries. A friend of mine Lisa she used to live down Telford way and had a Senior Business Development Director role with Toyota. Something happened I forget what it was, but the Japanese took a more hands on role in how the company was operated. In Japan attitudes are more draconian than they are now, and it was about 10 years ago this and basically they phased her out while keeping it legal purely because she was a woman. She was delivering the best figures in the UK. I think sexist attitudes are deplorable to be honest worse than racism in some respects.

yep I take your point, but I stand by my point which I said at the time, I would have had more respect for Dave if he had listened to my suggestion or responded.

Stevie comes out with some cracking content but he is the biggest hypocrite on here if you're being objective about it. By hypocritical though I mean he's massively inconsistent, I definitely don't think he's a snide hypocrite; that's something else altogether and you wouldn't tolerate that. I get the impression it's because a lot of his responses are emotion led. Do we? They're not an alien race. I'm all for equality, I think it's a disgrace that women earn less than men. Hopefully one day the pay levels will be the same, there'll be an equal amount of men and women in senior positions, and you'll find more people like Thatcher in power. I wouldn't go that far. Some things are better suited to women and some to men. Thats the way it is. As an employer you can also see the point of view that because a woman has kids you can lose continuity if you employ them. Again, that's not a slight it's just the way it is.

 

So it depends on if they do the same job and if their conditions of employment is the same.

 

The swearing or not swearing basically just comes down to manners and courtesy, I don't like women who swear like troopers so I don't swear when I'm with them.

I think attitudes to women in this country are better than some other countries. A friend of mine Lisa she used to live down Telford way and had a Senior Business Development Director role with Toyota. Something happened I forget what it was, but the Japanese took a more hands on role in how the company was operated. In Japan attitudes are more draconian than they are now, and it was about 10 years ago this and basically they phased her out while keeping it legal purely because she was a woman. She was delivering the best figures in the UK. I think sexist attitudes are deplorable to be honest worse than racism in some respects.
