blackandwhiteboy 0
Still time to get another loan transfer in? 'Emergency' loans can be made at virtually anytime anyway I think. Well here is the ruling (from another forum) Emergency loans can be done outside of the transfer window, but not after the fourth Thursday in November or March. A club can have a maximum of four players under 23 and a further four over 23 on standard loan during the season. There is no limit on Emergency Loans. However, only four players maximum can join one club from another during the season. A maximum of five loan players can be named on a team sheet. So we've got till the end of November but I'm not sure quite what constitutes an emergency.
Guest alex
This came up during the last window and the Football League has made the term emergency ambiguous enough so as to mean very little, i.e. Barton getting injured could constitute an 'emergency'. The reason for this (which I agree with) is that, unlike with PL clubs, the Football League argued that their clubs would struggle to go through a full season only signing players (even loan signings) during the window. Kitman 2207
Barton's been a massive disappointment. He's contributed nothing and sucked away cash that could have been used on someone worthwhile. No more second chances imo.

Isegrim 9902
The best thing with Barton Newcastle can hope for is permanent invalidity and having the right insurance.
