The Fish 10779
Religion, (when picked apart) does make sense. I'm not a theological scholar but even I can see that, it's a way of feeling connected, it's a way of explaining that which you don't understand, it's a way to find hope in the harshest of times, it's many things. So why can't you do that with your racism?
NJS 4375
Religion, (when picked apart) does make sense. I'm not a theological scholar but even I can see that, it's a way of feeling connected, it's a way of explaining that which you don't understand, it's a way to find hope in the harshest of times, it's many things. So why can't you do that with your racism? If you're going to argue religion is rational beacuse of typically human "irrational" emotions like a sense of belonging to a group then exactly the same argument applies to racism. My view is that most if not all "base" human emotions can and should be conquered by intelligence combined with empathy.
Walliver 0
You see that's the problem, the pc brigade can't accept that mr Singh and myself are both quite content with our shared levels of racism and it does not need to be unpicked to find reasons to enjoy your pc ness. People have lots of reasons for racism, most under scrutiny may have no logic, but neither does religeon. Now you're preventing the PC brigade asking their questions and thus crushing their right to free speech.
Renton 21393
Why are there more topics about the so-called PC brigade and racism than any other on every General Chat board in the known Universe? Almost without exception started by someone with right wing views and then bitten by those of liberal persuasion. It's tedious as fuck tbh. Can't we talk about our favourite types of pie instead (plenty of scope there)?

Christmas Tree 4711
Well it seems reasonable to ask him to explain this decision, given he's brought it up and wants a debate on it "wants to debate it" Read the op again.

Christmas Tree 4711
Is that not his prerogative? Of course. But (especially since this thread is all about free speech, at the bequest of CT) there's surely nothing wrong with asking the question either the thread was all about free speech WITHOUT questions. A nice little pc free rant line.
Guest alex
The point is where does freedom of speech end and "boundaries of sense" start. Are you allowed to say you dislike black people as long as you don't incite violence? This sounds like you want to debate it and how can you have free speech without questions? What a fucking moron I've got one for you: Do you only open your mouth to change feet?

So it'd be fine to say all Taxi Drivers are ignorant, racists... but oh no, it's not.. I had to justify that. Now if only I can remember which enemy of "Free Speech" that was? You plank, what you're talking about? It's not "Free Speech" that's just baseless ranting.

Conveniently ignoring the opening post... The pc brigade marched straight on in I don't know why you keep making the point about the OP as though you're making some clever point. You've started a thread on free speech and it's being discussed. Is your idea or free speech everyone adhering to what you put in the OP like? See what I mean about gold? You couldn't make this shit up.

Conveniently ignoring the opening post... The pc brigade marched straight on in ... But in the quoted post, you're ignoring your own opening post too. So, let me get this straight. What you're saying is that you want a thread where you can declare "I hate black people!" or "Gays shouldn't adopt!" without any negative reply, or questions as to why? Christmas Tree 4711
I thought this was meant to be about free speech rather than about not having to disclose why you might be prejudiced though. You don't have to say why you may not want your daughter to date an Asian bloke but what has that got to do with the right to free speech exactly? Seems like your building a pre-conceived straw man argument by trying to make out people are demanding to know your private reasons for stuff. They aren't but it's not unreasonable to ask, is it? Especially given the OP. "especially given the opening post" you brought it up first you clown Free speech without the pc brigade.... Which bit of that sentence can you not comprehend. Guest alex
Free speech is about saying things without other people having the right to question them. This thread is about not contradicting the OP, even the author contradicted the OP and its meant to be about free speech. Anyone asking questions, rather than being an advocate of free speech, is part of the pc anti-free speech brigade © The Daily Mail. Have I missed anything?
