Sydney turns red

Fuck you're an idiot J69, it happens once every ten or twenty years, so no doubt your sister will need to stock up on face masks!

At 6am this morning it was rather freaky as the sky was orange, there was no sun, so I said fuck it and went back to bed - where else would you want to be at the end of the world?

There is dust on everything, the dog was orange and it was difficult to breathe, it wasn't worth leaving the house.

Is it just dust from the bush swept into the city by freak weather conditions or something more ominous like fires and the like?

The bolded bit above. Low pressure system causing high force wind which has come from inland and dragged drought dried top soil with it.

More pics, video and new story

Must be a bit disconcerting that like.

I hope the orange washes out of your dog, Sammy

I was actually in Sydney a year ago today. Such was the mental state of some of the travellers I was stayng with, I reckon if this had happened then, at least one of them would have been ringing home asking if it was 'Judgement day there yet.'

I've never seen such a place for weather extremes as Australia. Droughts, floods, bush fires, dust storms, hail storms (hail as big as golf balls), desert - you name it, they've got it. Add to that the poisonous flora and fauna and homicidal biker gangs, you have to salute anyone who can survive into their sixties there
