Kick a man when he's down Jonny...

Ah sorry mate just remember you talking about it before and hadn't heard anything about it since.

What kind of work are you looking for? What's your experience?

What was this job for if you don't mind me asking?

Well I'm going to go in tomorrow and explain my situation to them.

If they will let me start at 7.30 I will take the job but if not I'm stumped and it's back to the drawing board.

Just applying for a few now anyway, as Christmas Tree says there's plenty going, the only trouble is the amount of people applying for them...

I've done some general admin work, work as a bar supervisor, work as a D.O.P, so when you put it all together you can generally describe some decent qualities e.g, team work, dealing with customers and the like.

This job is just a daft factory job but it's better than the dole and I can use my brief Engineering experience to pull my through it - level 1 GNVQ. (It's basically building the back of one of those refrigerated trailers lorries drive around with over and over again!)

So at the moment I'm looking for anything!

Anyway I'm going to get myself in on time tomorrow (A one off lift) and see if we can reach a compromise.

I've been trying to get an apprenticeship all summer, but it's not looking good now. ;)

What sort of apprenticeship?

WASHINGTON TYNE AND WEAR

Hours 39 PER WEEK MONDAY-FRIDAY 8AM-4.30PM

Wage MEETS NAT MIN WAGE

Work Pattern Days

EmployerScania GB Ltd

No experience necessary as a full apprenticeship will be given. A willingness to learn is essential. English and Maths GCSE would be an advantage, but not necessary. Will be required to travel to a training school in Loughborough about 10 times a year. Transport and accommodation for this will be provided. Will be training to service, repair and maintain LGVs and PCVs. This will be a physically demanding role.

You can apply for this job by sending a CV/written application to Alan Turnbull at Scania GB Ltd, Mandarin Way, Pattinson Industrial Estate, Washington, Tyne and Wear, NE38 8QG, or to alan.turnbull@scania.com.

Originally something like IT or business admin, but it's got the stage where anything will do now tbh.

And cheers, I'll apply to it.

The jobcentre site is always a good one to use if you are not already doing so.
;)

Think he might have thought of that like.

Blatently. One of many shite websites.

Jobs North East is a good place to go. It's basically the Chronicle's job section online.

You can register, start a profile, upload a CV and basically just click apply.

This is pretty decent like been on here for a while but after ALOT of applications and very little responce it is kinda dissheartening.

I couldnt think of owt worse than comission based door to door selling of leccy for £14k a year.

True. Been there and done that a few years ago. These companys shaft you left right and centre. Then theres the added joy of doing your own tax's.:huh:

I'd take pretty much anything at the minute, just doesnt seem to be alot about unless you have a trade or a profession and even then it difficult to find anything suitable.

Gotta keep on keepin on i suppose something will turn up.

If anyone hear's anything im sure Tom, J2J and myself would be grateful!

What are the current rates of the national minimum wage?

There are three levels of minimum wage, and the rates from 1 October 2008 are:

£5.73 per hour for workers aged 22 years and older

A development rate of £4.77 per hour for workers aged 18-21 inclusive

£3.53 per hour for all workers under the age of 18, who are no longer of compulsory school age

Doesn't apply to first year apprentices iirc.

Wiping grannies arses and pushing trolleys around hospital isn't everybodies cup of tea neither, but to be fair I'd rather do that than door to door. When someone comes to my door I have to stop myself saying fuck off. Knocking on peoples doors at 7pm. You can tell they've all tried to implement some type of body language that works but they end up looking like cunts.

And those charity robbing cunts have started going door to door in my area now, they can fuck right off.
