Park Life 71
Seems strange to me. As in normal schools you start with English. How old is Parky ynr and he isn't by any chance going to one of Hamburg's special bilingual German-Turkish schools? Because I don't know about other schools doing this. But then you should have thought about it before school enrolment. She is 6. Fair point about bi-lingual school, looks like Mrs P forgot to mention it silly cow. It's been a long running saga, it's the school she went to and it is walking distance from us, she had her heart set on sending PJ there and so I decided not to meddle. But this Turkish before English thing has really shocked/angered me.....English is by a country mile more important for German nippers than Turkish imo. I just had a quick look at the official curriculum where it is stated that it's still compulsory to learn English from 3rd form onwards while lessons in your mother tongue are optional in primary school. http://www.hamburger-bildungsserver.de/wel...d_rpl_entry.htm Me thinks you should rather ask Mrs P. about the fatherhood than question the education system... So they start English next year I guess. By the looks of that is the Turkish optional do you think??

Guest Stevie
Germany attempts integration through education shocker. I'd say if you don't like it Parky, leave Germany. Can't say I agree with this like. The Turkish are the immigrant population, the onus should be on them to integrate into the German system, including their language. Reminds me of my mate whose 7 year old son came back from school with some bollocks children's book about little Mohammed getting his head stuck in the Mosque gates. How is this remotely relevant to Cullercoats? I'm no Daily Mailist but shit like that really is leftist propaganda (which in turn fuels the far right) and has no place in the UK curriculum imo. 100%

Can you call a kid Mohammed in a book? Just as long as the book isn't illustrated. Or covered in fake fur.

I'm sorry but that is unacceptable.

Brock Manson 0
Normally I'd say it's a great thing to learn another language, since at that age it'll be easier for PJ to pick up...but I hate those fucking turks.

acrossthepond 901
Many birds rave about Turkish men. Looks like Parky Jnr will just have an advantage over her lesser, non-Turkish speaking sistren when it comes to the Middle-Eastern-European meat market. What's the issue? Or maybe it's more on-topic if I ask you "sorun nedir?" You can get her to translate that for you in a couple of weeks, it would seem
Kitman 2207
Sad state of affairs when even the krauts are being buttfucked by immigrants. Only found out about it this morning. Massive argument with Mrs P....Threatened to go down to the school... This is ridiculous, English is the international bridging language ffs!!!!111 Why would you need Turkish as a second language? It's not like they don't understand "doner kebab with chips please, aye and plenty onions". Stevie think of it this way, it's like kids in North London starting Bengali before they start French. This is off the fucking scale. I'm preparing a letter to the stadt meister as we speak. Be sure to write it in Turkish, he'll like that
