Fop 1
Thinly veiled brag thread or interested in the least interesting part of the Bentley product? You decide! ...or found it strange that they deliver cars that are wrapped up and thought he'd share it with the group. Or he just made it up. sammynb 3508
tbf it is a fairly common practice for auto manufacturers to wrap their cars in paper or a protective covering for shipping. Toyota Australia exports about 100 000 vehicles to the middle east and if you check out the pic you can see they cover the horizontal surfaces with an adhesive paper to protect the finish from dust, scratches, etc. Did you know that most privately bought vehicles in the middle east are sold at souqs and that buyers will only purchase vehicles with the paper intact and if is covered in the dust/dirt it has collected since leaving the manufacturer's plant? We make the headliners for the Toyota Sequoia SUV where I work. They dropped a quarter million of them on the GCCs back six months ago or so. Toyota generally has pretty strenuous quality standards for suppliers like us, but for the GCC parts, they were crazy picky. Before we started, they sent us the video they were showing their personnel and they didn't mention the paper business, but even things like dual exhausts pipes needed to be within a mil(limeter) of each other in axis or the customers would return them. And by return them, they meant they'd bring the vehicle back and demand a new vehicle. Edited September 18, 2009 by Cid_MCDP
Guest Stevie
I don't think it was bragging in any shape or form I think it was Fish being bored out of his mind and creating a topic about the first thing that entered his head. Absolutely nowt wrong with it - it's the very thing this forum (General Chat) has lived on for the whole 7 years. You only have to look at GRC and FPA threads. You'll take this next comment as a personal slight Stevie but it's not - it's a response to the fact that you've called into question why he started it. Well I guess it's for the same sort of reason you started these threads: http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?showtopic=25727 http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?showtopic=19833 http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?showtopic=24179 http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?showtopic=23901 Each of which we could argue is a totally pointless and unnecessary topic but we haven't because we acknowledge that it's threads like these that the place is all about. Without new threads, it'd die pretty quickly and if they have no mileage in them, they naturally soon fall off the radar. Have a think next time sunshine before you start dishing out demands of what can / can not be posted. There's a bit of a difference between asking peoples opinions on people from other areas, provoking debate, and light poking fun at other places and having laugh, a general interest question about where a place is that people were only too keen to have a guess at providing a bit of stimulation on a Tuesday morning, than a pointless thread 99% of people would have no opinion on i.e fucking the wrapping paper on a Bentley. Peasepud pays good money for the bandwidth on this forum, and that's just abusing it in my view. It says it all when the only poster who seems even remotedly interested in the thread is SammyMB. By virtue of being a member of this forum however Fish is perfectly entitled to start threads about whatever subject he pleases (so long as it doesn't place the forum in a difficult position at which point it'd be removed at the discretion of the admin team). FYI those of us admining the place ALL contribute to the running costs and we have a bandwidth quota that we fall well within. This thread is hardly going to make a massive dint, indeed it'd have taken even less had you not kicked up a stink about it.

The Fish 10963
It'd be an odd lie though. Neither shocking nor controversial, impressive or funny. So do you think I'm lying Fop? So was saying you were a moderator. As to why? maybe there's some thing you'll gain by doing it (as that seems to be your motivation for deception ). YAY! Hypocrisy and Avoidance! And Stevie, in all honesty, if you don't like what I write and find it boring, why open any of the threads? You're just argumentative and have decided that I will be your focus for a while. Now that is boring.
