Amir 0
Chris Hughton has been told he has the job at Newcastle United for the rest of the season. The News of the World says Hughton met managing director Derek Llambias on Tuesday and was given the green light to remain as the main man at St James' Park. Toon chiefs held talks with both David O'Leary and Joe Kinnear in August as the protracted takeover dragged on during the summer. O'Leary's wage demands and Kinnear's ill-health ruled them out and now Hughton's good start - five wins and a draw from six games - have convinced Mike Ashley to keep faith with the 50-year-old. "Chris was called in by the MD at the start of the week and was told the job was his for the season," said a source. "He has impressed Mike Ashley and the board and has been told to continue for the campaign." Just as long as we get someone who can keep us in the prem if Hughton gets us promoted, in any case Hughton really has been great.
Papa Lazaru 0
The scary thing is you just know fat fuck ashley would have got Kinnear back if it was at all possible! If nobody is buying ashley out then sticking with Hughton is the right thing to do, as the choices ashley would make other than hughton would be shite and would just disrupt whats happening now. TheMoog 0
It's got to the stage with Hughton now that if we did get a new owner it'd be better to keep him as the manager until he slips up, no point in changing a winning formula imo.
