khay 10
We go down to the Canteen as a team around 12.15pm, there is usually a choice of between 4 and 6 starters, mains and desserts. Today i had an avocado mousse to start and since i hadnt had beef for a while went for faux-fillet with pasta and green beans, the sauce is always some garlic based affair. For dessert i had a plate of mixed fruit. Finish around 1pm, we make our way through to the coffee bar where we sit and chat for 15 minutes over an expresso and go back up usually before 1.30pm The cost today was 3.70 euros including coffee. Stick that in your 'al desko' sandwich. Lazy foreigners.

She was fine company, but it was the subsidised meals - a main course for less than a euro, for god's sake - that really made it.

Cid_MCDP 0
I only get about 30 minutes for lunch due to waiting for the line to shut down and having to be there a bit early to get it up and going again. Plenty of time to load magazines in the car though...

Tom 14011
Oh yes! It's supposed to be the number one thing that sets them off. This may or may not be a total lie.

Barney 0
Gym every day for 40mins. Sometimes a game of squash or footy instead. After that, either subway on the way back to work or more often, a sambo from home to save money. Edit: I'd go mental if I stayed at my desk during lunch. I used to do that and play champ manager and go on the net, or else go down town for take away food. I turned into a pudgy mess though, and I found the days went on too long without fresh air or a break from the desk. Kid Dynamite 6964
Tbh I rather sit and eat my dinner with a patient than some of the delightful folk that fill our nations offices monday to friday 9-5.

Jill 0
Walk home (only live 5 mins away), make some lunch - soup/sandwich/yoghurt sort of thing, browse the net/watch TV/read, walk back to work. Gets me out of the office but without being tempted to spend money. I always end up answering the phone or getting roped into doing something if I stay at my desk. luckyluke 2
Nip down to the canteen for half an hour whilst it's quiet. Usually there are a couple of people I know there. It was great at the last hospital, we had free lunch and an hours teaching (so an hour and a half break) every day that everyone went to. When that finished we still took about an hour off and all ate together in the mess or the canteen. Bradford is busier so less sociable unfortunately.
