The Fish 10672
How do you take yours? Normally I take a stroll, just to get out of the office and stratch my legs a bit. Even if I've made my lunch I still just need a breath of un-air-conditioned air. I normally take half an hour for the jaunt, then sit at my desk and eat. Trouble is, because I'm at my desk, I invariably do work. You can't convince the boss that you've only taken 30 minutes and charge em an extra half hour though can you? NoooOOOooo

NoooOOOooo I can come and go as I please. Depending on the weather I'll do the gauntlet of Northumberland street (beggers, pollsters, Big issuers, charvers) and get something nice to eat, or just get something shitty from Tesco down the road. Christ my life is boring.

khay 10
New work building has canteen and the food is normally canny. Sit with a couple of folk. Sometimes I'm out and about so stop at asda or a burger van. Same as Fish though, find myself doing work if I'm at my desk. But it saves me having to stay late if it gets something finished. Find you can get away with doing nowt from about 12- 1:30 anyway and claim its lunch time....
Holden McGroin 6454
I walk home. 14 minute round trip which leaves me 45 mins to make some food and watch a bit of TV. Saves loads of money.

It's like being back at school. "No I'm not giving you dinner money, you can come back home and make yourself a sarnie instead." "But muuuuu-uuuuuum...." Happy Face 29
Left Newcastle last month used to love an hour wandering round the parks or the shops with my ipod. In North Shields now pick up a sarnie at the canteen and eat it at my desk.

Meenzer 15347
Wait, you weren't working there? Firstly, apologies for my sieve-like memory, and secondly, why the hell were you living there of all places? Mind you, if the alternative was Finsbury Park... I'm listening to the A20 pouring its vehicular bile in the direction of Lewisham as I type this, so I have to ask: whyyyyyyyyyyy? (And where? I fancy a giggle.) It was has a Housing Association there on the high street, possibly the dullest weeks of my life. Glad to hear you've managed to partially escape that particularly fine part of the world. I love central Lewisham though, it's a fine place to go and get your cheap fruit and veg and Primark goodies, just so long as you know you can escape afterwards... Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
Agree with Fish that its best to get out of the office and stretch your legs. I usually go for a walk for half an hour, grab a sandwich and then listen to the first 20 minutes of Hawksbee & Jacobs in the car before heading back. If its raining I'll have a browse of this place. ChezGiven 0
We go down to the Canteen as a team around 12.15pm, there is usually a choice of between 4 and 6 starters, mains and desserts. Today i had an avocado mousse to start and since i hadnt had beef for a while went for faux-fillet with pasta and green beans, the sauce is always some garlic based affair. For dessert i had a plate of mixed fruit. Finish around 1pm, we make our way through to the coffee bar where we sit and chat for 15 minutes over an expresso and go back up usually before 1.30pm The cost today was 3.70 euros including coffee. Stick that in your 'al desko' sandwich.
