Fuck off Fish, the only reason I would have said no was because I knew it'd be crystal clear that you'd only just been made one and therefore not helping you at all.

What were you going to do? Tell them to check on Toontastic.net and look at the status of the poster called 'The Fish'? Wouldn't have taken them long to have a look at your history and find things like this:

http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?...st&p=654154

http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?...st&p=622396

And that's not withstanding the contents of this thread before I'd said anything. Comments like "which simpleton gave The Fish mod status...." tells a story don't you think?

Don't give me this bollocks that I wouldn't help you out because I fucking would have done if it had helped. Prick!

Nice of you to help them out with that just in case though Craig :munch:

You take yourself way too seriously Craig.

The job is a couple of months off, by which time this ambiguously titled thread would have disappeared, at most they would look to see if the user was a mod, it's unlikely they'd trawl through threads to find evidence of non-modship, you just said you wouldn't help because of the "fallout" and do you really care if it fails?

as I said to Pud, I intended to do no real moderation, this was because if it's the difference between me getting a job or not, it was worth a punt.

You're still making an issue of it, so it obviously still bothers you and if you're that pissed off, un-do the moderator tag. I'll find a different board to give me moderator status as a favour. :munch:

I'm really struggling with the concept that being a mod on a football forum can help you get a job, any job at all. Fish, if you're resorting to this type of thing on your CV it's not looking good, you need to take steps to get some real work experience.

FFS. How old are you lot? Doesnt sound as if ANY of you should be Mods or Admin tbh. Craig I'm sorry but you sound dead petty here. Just delete this thread as its not helping Fish, plus its pointless. Real life is far more important!

It's a job moderating a newspaper message board; being the guy that cherry picks funny, controversial or sentimental posts so that the paper can be seen to be "in touch" with the people. Also it'd be removing offensive, obscene posts, or spam/advertisements. Obviously it's more to do with your experience and personality and what-not, but I figured "Hey, I kind of know a person who can give me a moderator tag without much hassle" and thought (as I've said before) if it makes even the slightest positive step, then surely it's worth a punt.

Trust me, I won't be using it in the CV for any other job :munch:

Fair enough. For some reason I find myself worrying far too much about your career than I should. ;)

Indeed i thought it was all just a bit of craic winding up fish, but if he thinks it'll help him out delete this thread and knock the petty shite on the head, no need for it.

Can't mods delete threads? :munch:

I'm pretty sure they can, so just delete this Fish, and good luck to you in the job.

I can see it, you think most modern mags have a column with forum mesages and emails etc now rather than the old "letters" page and someones gotta wade through all the shit

You're not half as surprised as I was. Not great pay, but I'm trying to get involved in that sphere so I'm willing to take a pay-cut to do it.

The journos on the mag will do it though, otherwise they'll get free moderators in I would have thought. I can't imagine people are paid for it, happy to be corrected though.

In my orthopaedic shoes.

I was under the impression there was almost no money in journalism, seems I've been misinformed if they can afford to pay forum moderators!

Someone save this thread, before Fish deletes it!

I'll keep bumping it every day for the next wee while just in case his prospective employers do take a look at this board. After all, there is just way too much fraud in the modern workplace e.g. 'I have ten 'O' levels', or 'I have a degree in quantum physics' (both of which are on my cv), or 'I'm a mod on a football message board'; where will it all end?????!!!!111
