Farewell Redheugh, sniff sniff, we'll miss you Geoff.

So that's it then, we're dooooooooooooooooooooomed!

This gives me some hope if your past record's anything to go by. Just need Parky to say the club's about to fold now.

So with all the newspapers once again bringing our potential take-over up once again this morning, can their be many straws left for our CT to grasp?

Like the papers are saying Ashley is 'dithering', fucking dithering?! No fucking shit he's dithering! He's been dithering since the end of last season!!! Cunt.

Mike Ashley's sale of Newcastle reached new farcical levels over the weekend with the owner - having given the impression he would finally accept the reduced offer of £80million from long-time prospective buyer Barry Moat - delaying his decision yet again.

This is the third time in less than two weeks that Ashley had called supposedly definitive meetings having indicated he was prepared to do a deal with Moat. This is despite Moat continually falling short of raising the £100m that Ashley has wanted from the start of this interminable selling process.

And sports retail tycoon Ashley, whose Newcastle thinking differs on a daily basis, has made these promises of an imminent sale while at the same time offering caretaker manager Chris Hughton the role on a permanent basis - which wouldn't be in his gift if he sold the club.

To complicate further a mess that the near 44,000 fans who watched Newcastle beat Doncaster on Saturday don't deserve, Geoff Sheard's rival consortium were ruled out of the sale, having failed to place £100m in their lawyers' client account by last Friday's deadline.

Yet the Sheard team claim the money will be in place this week - and no one else has been rejected from this circus.

The papers slowly but surely getting as bored of all this as us.

Mike Ashley rejects Barry Moat's £80 million offer for Newcastle

Newcastle owner Mike Ashley has rejected the latest £80 million offer from prospective buyer Barry Moat despite it meeting terms he indicated would be acceptable less than a week ago.

Moat had offered the Sports Direct tycoon £60 million up-front and cast-iron guarantees that the balance of £20 million would be paid next season, but Ashley rejected the offer indicating that it will take the full £80m up-front to persuade him to leave St James's Park.

Ashley's decision to turn down the offer comes less than a week after he turned down a £40m-£40m offer from Moat indicating that a £60 million - £20 million split would be acceptable. With Moat still committed to completing a deal Ashley appears to be trying to squeeze the Tyneside businessman as hard as he can.

Last week Ashley told Moat that he would make a decision by Wednesday evening only to ask for a further 28 hours to make his mind up on the offer.

That deadline stretched into the weekend, with Ashley hopeful that his prevarication would give alternative buyers the time to indicate their interest. With no serious buyers appearing on the horizon he appears determined to push Moat as hard as he can.

Despite the protracted and unpredictable negotiations, Moat remains determined to complete a deal and is understood to have solid funding plans in place.

He will be reluctant to commit funds that are desperately needed for team rebuilding to the up-front purchase however, and he may seek to raise additional funds to finally persuade Ashley to move on.

The latest development in a takeover negotiation that began in July will increase fears among supporters that Ashley intends to hang onto the club in the hope that they gain automatic promotion. If he does remain in charge he is likely to have to write off at least another £20 million to cover projected losses this
