Kitman 2204
What The Fuck Does This Mean?????????????????????????? THE £100m asking price for Newcastle United has been met, club officials have confirmed. The club released a statement saying that the offer had been received, and negotiations were still ongoing. It's understood the accepted bid was made by South Tyneside businessman Barry Moat, former owner of Premier Direct. But it's believed that the chances of a speedy resolution to the saga remain slim, with owner Mike Ashley closing in on a deal to secure a new, reduced overdraft facility with the banks, which would give the club security for this season. Sources at the club say Ashley hopes the team's success on the pitch will improve the club's long-term value. That Ashley has no intention of selling and probably never did, as Peasepud and others predicted quite a while ago.

Tom 14011
With Kevin Keegan’s case for constructive dismissal against Newcastle set to be concluded by Friday — the former manager, who left the club a year ago, is understood to have rejected a £4 million compromise offer to settle — another obstacle to completing the takeover will be removed. A piss take if true. As much as people might want to see Ashley lose as much money as possible £4m is a fucking lot of money. If true...

1892 0
Refuse to believe it Believe, believe :spit: Too many whispers around this week for this not to be true. We must of heard 'end of the week' about 24 times now. So I'm not going to believe it 'til it's done and dusted like, just to save the disappointment if nothing happens again. Tooj 17
Steve Howey talking on total sport tonight says that he has heard from a very good source that the deal will go through as early as this weekend, basically as soon as the Keegan compensation is agreed. Interview on the iplayer below just after 11 minutes. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p004f...ort_23_09_2009/ Ah so once again it sounds to me like they're using something else against KK. The sad thing is I know some people will actually blame Keegan for us not getting taken over.
