FOOTBALL MANAGER 2011 UNVEILED

Sports Interactive Confirm Football Manager 2011 Release This Year

LONDON (August 10th, 2010) – Sports Interactive & SEGA® Europe Ltd. today announced that Football Manager™ 2011 for PC and Apple Macintosh, and Football Manager Handheld™ 2011 for Sony PlayStation® Portable will be released before Christmas 2010. FM2011 will feature more new features than ever before, including real-time contract negotiation, a revamped training system and a number of match engine improvements, Football Manager 2011 will once again raise the bar for football management games.

Football Manager 2011 is the latest iteration of the award-winning Football Manager series. Selling in excess of 6 Million copies worldwide, Football Manager has been topping the UK PC charts for the last five years.

Football Manager 2011 will be more polished than ever this year, and Sports Interactive will again set a new standard for the genre by adding a host of new features. For the first time ever, aspiring managers can now negotiate contracts with players in real time. And by working with a multitude of real-life football agents, Sports Interactive gained an insight as to how these negotiations can be made as realistic as possible in-game. Prepare to meet different types of agents in your contract talks; each with their own personality so will therefore need a different approach.

“At Sports Interactive, we always strive to give the end-user the best experience possible,” said Miles Jacobson, Studio Director at Sports Interactive. “The training system for example has always been the best we thought it could be, until now. We’ve found a way to make it even better!”

With the implementation of the most intuitive training system in the series history, there is a new “match preparation” area of training so that managers can give their team specific areas to focus on in the lead up to a match. There are also more basic training schedules for players, and 14 different individual skill areas that you can focus your players

on.

Interaction with players, staff and the board have gone to a whole new level, with a host of new boardroom and backroom requests, a new player interaction module that allows the manager to have private conversations with players, as well as public conversations regarding players at other clubs.

Two years after the launch of the 3D Match Engine, players will see a number of improvements implemented for this year’s release. With over 100 new animations added, as well as more player emotions, new player models, new stadiums, pitch textures, improved lighting, floodlit night matches, more goal celebrations and lots of other extras which improve what was already the best match simulation on the market.

The other new features announced today include a revamped media module, which will keep the managers better up to date with events going on in their football world, as well as being more customisable than ever before, and the most requested feature that the Sports Interactive community have asked for in the last few years, dynamic league reputation, which makes for an even more realistic model of the footballing world.

Further new features will be announced via Twitter (@si_games), Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/officialfootballmanager), a series of blogs and the popular Football Manager Podcast in the months leading up to the game’s release. With more new features than anyone could ever fit in a press release, Football Manager will retain its position as the most realistic, most played, annually best selling, and highest reviewed football management simulation in the world.

PLEASE NOTE - THESE ARE ONLY THE FIRST FEATURES TO BE ANNOUNCED FOR THE GAME AND IS IN NO WAY A FULL, OR EVEN NEARLY FULL, FEATURE LIST.

Sounds good, hope its a big improvement on 10 as I just couldnt get into it like 09 which I still currently play.

Hopefully they give a release date to the demo in the near future.

I think this is what put me off 10 for good

Started a new game with Sampdoria.

In:

Subotic (£10m)

Garay (£4.1m monthly installments)

Van der Vaart (loan + £7m option to buy)

Out:

Palombo (£10m)

If anyone has a bit of money to spend, I strongly recommend getting Subotic and Garay as they are an absolutely awesome pairing in defence. Currently second after 10 games and only conceded 5! Cassano is scoring for fun too.

I need to raise money as I want to make VDV's transfer permanent. Only have £1m in the kitty after signing the CBs.

Did the Quadruple with Liverpool - Premiership, League Cup, FA Cup, Europe League. I just didn't feel passionate about it, though (I don't like Liverpool irl ) so I left and joined Tottenham (it felt good to replace that twat Redknapp..). Trying to build a young team, and had a fair bit to spend but a fairly big squad that needed to be cut down. Made £32 Million from shipping out some oldies, and spent a whopping £72 Million on a mix of regens, youngsters, and players like Enrique, Dentinho and then took a risk on Kalinic after he scored 40 goals in the Championship the season before.

Got an easy group in the Europa League, and have won two and drawn to Arsenal in the Premiership so far. Looking for a Champions League spot, and then will build from there next season.

Should also add that one of my first moves was to appoint Nobby Solano as my Assistant Manager ^^

Jimenez wants out and is playing like crap, but now no-one wants him. Irony at its finest seeing as I was turning down bids left, right and center.

I want to replace him with Albin Ekdal, who is transfer listed and would cost me exactly £5.5m...which is what Jiminez is worth.

Just about holding on to 4th going into January, finished top of my group in the CL...and have drawn Lyon. Didn't think that was possible as they finished 2nd but w/e. Doubt I'll progress. Although I just knocked Chelski out of the league cup. 1-0 down until the 88th when Kerzakhov (who is still awesome) blasts it in, and then Church rolls it into the corner in the 92nd minute.

WHATTHEFUCK!

I'm on for the quadruple, in the FA Cup final, a regen of mine scores to make it 2-1 in the 116minute and see the game out. I tell my players congratulations.

I hit continue, it says that Vela scored in the 111minute and that City equalised 3minutes later and won on penalties!!

WTF!

Doing better than I expected as Tottenham. I'm currently 5th, 8 points off the top spot with 5 games in hand going into January. Beat Man Utd in the League Cup Q. Final, and I'm through to the Knock-Out rounds of the Europa League. Even though I've done all this before with Liverpool, I'm enjoying this one twice as much.

Ffs...Laptop crashed last night whilst I was saving my game, so that has now corrupted. The version 2 of the file is right back at the start of the season :/ That isn't a particularly good back up system! Urgh, not sure I want to start a new game. Might go back to the save I have just after I've resigned from Liverpool.

EDIT: Ah, managed to restore it via Windows Explorer. Got about 9 games to catch up on, but it's better than half a season!

Is anyone else getting a scenario where a defender plays a pass back to the keeper when no-one else is around, only for the keeper to turn around and blart the ball into the top corner of his own net?

Happened to me twice this season; both Hart and Federici did it. Drew and won the games but it's a little...interesting.

Regardless, Ismael Aissati is arriving in the summer on a free (get in) and I'm trying to sign Ekdal on loan with option to buy, as I shipped out Jimenez. The 'bigger club' he went to was Lecce, who are currently 15th in their league. I'm 4 points clear in 2nd place. ;)
