Harsh on Raylor and Carroll imo, too many people swayed by the three goals as well. Other than scoring Ameobi's overall game was gash.

Enrique MoM for me, did his defensive duties well. For example I clearly remember him catching up with, tacklin Rosenior, then calmly playing the ball to the feet of a player in space. Where normally I'd have expected a foreign import to half heartedly chase, then foul said player.

Ryan Taylor was fucking hopeless man. He's terrified of the ball even at this level.

Point to the bit in my post where I said he's a good footballer, ya daft Baldy get.

I said he had a decent game, certainly better than Colocinni who at times looked determined to wander down a blind alley by himself and bumfuck a goal against us from nowhere.

...uppity mother fuckers.. :icon_lol:

Colocinni had a better game though. He struggled a bit early on against Long but quite why he was marking him while Taylor was sweeping about 10 yards deeper is beyond me. However, Colocinni got to grips with his task and did better as the game went on. Ryan Taylor looked embarrassingly out of his depth considering the league and the opposition (mid-table fodder at a guess).

I thought Raylor got forward well, threw himself up and down an unprotected flank without letting us get over-run. Everytime Colocinni put his foot on the ball and tried to play his way out of trouble I hid behind my hands.

But I suppose that's what we expect with football, everyone sees the game slightly differently.

Come on man. He gets a hattrick and it's still not enough to deserve MOM.

Goals win games. He scored the goals. He deserves the credit.

The fact that you think his none goalscoring strike partner was more deserving is odd.

I think you notice when you're there how often Ryan Taylor takes up positions in which he knows he isn't going to receive the ball though. That's not me being a soopafan but I did notice it a lot on Saturday. I'm not saying Colocinni's the answer to our problems by any means either but he's head and shoulders above Ryan Taylor.

His overall game wasn't gash either. That's a ridiculous comment in any case but it's churlish in the extreme when it's appended to 'apart from scoring a hat trick' or words to that effect.

alex, from what I saw on tv he looked better than Colocinni, but I take your point about being there

ds, I didn't mean Carroll should be top, just higher than he was.

Re: Ameobi, goals aside he was poor imo. I don't think he did much else though. I know it sounds churlish, but it's truly what I think. Enrique and S.Taylor were better performers on the day. imo.

Forced a great save from the keeper, and put a 25 yarder inches wide. Unlucky not to get 5 tbh.

Anything as clearcut as Ameobi being man of the match quite comfortably was bound to flare up someones contrary nature.

I didn't think Ryan Taylor was awful or anything but he wasn't any good either. Alex definately has a point about him hiding but he didn't give away possession as foolishly as he usually does and that cross for our second was pitch-perfect. He almost looks nervous out there a lot of the time and I can't understand why.

I have to agree with the scaley one Mr. Fish. Beyond the 3 goals(one of which was a penalty which he probably would not have taken if a hat-trick wasn't in sight) Ameobe was no better than he usually is which is NOT being the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Enrique looked comfortable on the ball, made some good runs forward, but unfortunately his finishing touch leaves a lot to be desired.

Anyone who scores a hattrick deserves mom even though he actually did his best to miss the first one (it hit the top of his head) and the third was a penalty which anyone should score. But he still put three in so fair play to him.

His general play though shite for the most part especially before he scored which tbf probably gave him the confidence to improve. I would be more than happy to accept shit general play and three goals every game though and it would be madness to say otherwise.

I thought Barton put the best performance in though and I thought Coloccini looked solid after a slightly jittery start. I still think with confidence he is a good player albeit not really physical enough.

Barton or Nolan for me, Ameobi is a good shout though, as its already been said goals win games, and Ameobi on this occasion provided them, with two decent headers and a well hit penalty, if you remember he also nearly scored another header which forced a great save from the keeper, his overall play wasnt bad either, well done Shola.

Anyone getting a hattrick will get (and i think deserve) MOTM from me, he also had another good effort saved, and whilst his all round game wasn't great, it wasnt shit like against West Brom either.

I think Raylor did a have a decent game and i'm one of his biggest critics as i'm not convinced he's a footballer at all! He had a shaky start where he gave a way a couple of balls, but after that i remember some good tackles, some decent passes here and there and got involved, especially for the goal. He also looked better as Barton was taking the set pieces!

Colocini is clearly a much better player than Raylor so i agree with Alex there, and again after a shaky start he did have a canny game, was caught on the wrong side of the attacker about 3 times though which he needs to cut out.

Nolan looked as ever so shockingly slow when he gets the ball to feet and when chasing back after players, but his effort to keep that ball in earned us the crucial goal when most would have given up on it, and at this level he will probably do a job, something he'll never do at prem level.

Enrique was impressive, but then i've always rated him from the start and am not surpried at all that he'll be cruising through matches in the championship.

Is it just my fading memory or did Colochini have a very good prolonged run in the premiership before it all went tits up.

His best game was probably Man Utd away.

He did have a good run where he was starting to look the part i thought, then slowly had his confidence destroyed and got steadilly worse, but was about the only player who was fit all season if nothing else!

Shola is an enigma, wrapped in a puzzle, wrapped in a baby deer.

He did well on the 1st as he saw it very late, tucked away a Penalty despite me thinking he'd miss(I think he'll miss every pen he takes) and could have had a couple more.

Compare that to WBA away where he was fucking awful!

All we can do with Shola is be grateful for the hat-trick but not go overboard and suddenly think "he's now found his level" etc. We all know he will more than likely be back to being shit next week.

Its telling that Duff scores one and gets snapped up, shola scores three and........
