Deano 0
Even though we looked decent yesterday it was still evident that with the exception of Jonas we lack any sort of pace in the side. I just cant see with the likes of N'Zogbia and Martins gone where its going to come from on the wings and upfront. Lets say MA is going to spend a bit IF he stays or should we be taken over, just who is out there and promising enough to provide the legs we need? Edited August 16, 2009 by Geordie Lad... JonTheMag 4
hahahah, he would basically be Obafemi Martins x 10. Runs every where but never touches the ball!
Sir Bob Almighty! 0
I hear Lovenkrands might be on his way back, that would be a nice little injection of pace.
nortoon 0
Erik Huseklepp might be an option. Recently earned himself a few national matches. Winger/striker who has pace, dribbling skills and finishing ability. Ive seen him score pretty much 2 identical goals where hes chipped the goalie while under pressure from a defender and being quite wide. Amazing goals both. Should be available for about 3m pounds. He is still playing in Norway, but he needs to get picked up before some of the lower premier league or french/german teams go for him. Could do well in any bottom 10 premier league side. Of course Newcastle will never have heard of him . Wouldn't mind lovenkrands either. Personally i think a promotion is possible, but a forward with pace will be an extreme improvement to the team. Cant see Ashley shelling out 3 million even if he is good, we wont get anyone in unless its a loan or free transfer
Deano 0
We were linked with huseklepp last week i think? Apparently big al was having him watched? Him and skjelbred. Both would be good signings and would get change on 10mil...MA WONT pay that though so lets hope a takeover is pushed through.

Its a well documented FACT we need to strengthen the squad isnt it? So if the take over collapses MA would HAVE to protect his investment by re-investing...maybe with some of the money he raked in? Its no joke...its fact!

You don't need flags/free scarves etc to create a atmosphere when you're playing your final home game with the need for points still desperate. Unfortunately, the players weren't the only ones who thought the job was done after the Boro game, the atmosphere was flat as a fart considering the circumstances, mind, playing Fulham didn't help, a decent enough side with very few fans who nobody has any problem with, we needed a bit of needle in the match to get the sleepy fans going. The players let us down and didn't really inspire, equally, a lot of supporters thought we'd already done it after beating the Smogs and then seemed almost seemed resigned when our goal got disallowed and we went down to ten men. Tooj 17
Pace is no good as well if you can't use it or it's all you've got. Someone like Franz Carr for example, pace with purpose though is a different matter all together.
tinofbeans 91
he's his own man is shearer. i think he'd be good for the club but so far the good coaching based on sound technique and slightly different formation ( having 2 wide players that narrow the game up due to their ability to move inside) has cause problems for the 2 teams we've faced. eventually that'll get figured out however..... he will have his favourites ( and it'd seem for example collocini is definitely not on his xmas card list) but we have to wait for the fat man to sell up....
