Jimbo 175
I deleted the "Bowyer" thread following a complaint from a member, the thread had comments that could have been interpreted as libel, so rather than having the bollocks sued off us, I deleted it. Slag me off if you want, but it was my decision and mine alone.

Shearergol 0
TBF the last one left the Board and the Mods open to a quick writ and damages for libel, slander and god knows what else53526 Disagree tbh, as does the "law studying" missus 53536 you're both welcome to repeat the story on your own board I guess 53556 Erm, I own this domain name

adios 717
It's more the risk of the hosting company pooing themselves and turning off your web site when they see a solicitors letter. Newspapers make libelous statements all the time and get away with them because no one can be bothered to go through the legal process.
Rob W 0
GREAT!!! I'll feel free to libel anyone then - that's OK is it? I CAN'T wait............................. adios 717
Think I'm covered on that one too to be honest 53577 I was more giving out about them hitting the small, often non-profit websites with these tactics and leaving the media to peddle their shite. In my experience plenty of businesses use the solicitor's letter, not with any intention to carry out the threat, but just to scare people off. Cunts. EDIT: How are you getting around it, if you can say? I'm running a few web servers but all of them are hosted with companies that could balk at the sight of a solicitor's letter. If I was to get involved in the porn industry there would be places I could host to avoid legal complications but I'd think that's rather specialised. Not that I've ever looked into this...
