Ketsbaia 0
The TV show that was the sole contributer to my fear of Fireworks, Track and Field events, Bees and Pool cues as a bairn. In hindsight it was probably the most pointless show ever, really. In every episode they'd have someone breaking their leg while on a mountain, getting impaled on something in the most bizarre ways and a truely lazy voice over from Michael Buerk giving you advice on what happened if a Catherine Wheel flew off the fence it was nailed to and decapitated the nearest child. I hated the fucking show.

Guest alex
I didn't like it. If they'd shown real accidents instead of re-constructions it would have been much better.
Jill 0
I used to like it, then swiftly went off it when they had some kind of mountain range/camping accident special, the night before I did my first Duke of Edinburgh expedition.

Renton 21627
That 'Touching the Void' was just a 999 special wasn't it? 53377[/snapback] I thought touching the void was brilliant. Whereas 999 is patently shit.
Thompson 0
Touching the Void was just a film version of the book. It's class like, i couldnt believe the gadge survived!
sweetleftpeg 0
I also thought Touching the Void was class actually, I'm glad they cut Michael Buerk out of it. Anyone seen that sketch from League of Gentleman down in the caves? 'Yes, we’ve had all the celebrities down here – including the late Don Henderson of Bullman fame. The Chuckle Brothers – you might have seen the autograph in the ticket booth. And Michael Buerk and the “999” team.'

BlueStar 0
Duh-duh-DUNNN! I actually said to a mate last year who was hopping from rock to rock above an increasingly rising tide to get to a little island "Why can I visualise Michael Burke recounting this episode"
