snakehips 0
£8m is decent money for a man that we got for next to nowt But it'll be £0m for NUFC and £8m for MA so what's to be happy about? I'm just hoping that no matter how painful it is to see the good players go, each sale is just one step closer to the fat slug fucking off from our club. Jimbo 172
Bassong bound for The LaneWe are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement with Newcastle United for the transfer of Sebastien Bassong to the Club, following the player successfully completing a medical examination and agreeing personal terms. The defender moved to St James' Park in July 2008 from Metz where he made 79 appearances in three seasons. The 23-year-old played 34 times for Newcastle last season in his debut campaign in the Premier League.

Park Life 71
I was just thinking that he might accept an ~£80 million bid for the club now is has recouped £20m. Wishful thinking. The rumors are the highest bid is 62m, so we're nearly there.

Scottish Mag 3
He will need to hope that Harry picks players on their form and not on experience and reputation as once Corluka, Dawson, King and Woodgate are all fit he could struggle to get a game. As much as it kills me to say it, those 5 plus Hutton, Naughton, Bale, Walker and Chimbonda must be a good selection headache to have.
Barney 0
Bassong and Woodgate as centre halves. I'd have fucking loved to have seen that here. So would KK, I imagine.

ewerk 30162
Bassong has served ban, say Spurs Sebastien Bassong is set to make his debut for Tottenham against Liverpool on Sunday despite appearing to serve only one game of a two-match ban. Bassong, 23, was sent off for Newcastle at the end of last season and missed their final match of the campaign. Spurs say he has completed his ban by missing Newcastle's match against West Brom on Saturday, even though he signed for the Londoners before that match. Tottenham insist the ban continued to apply to Newcastle games. "Sebastien Bassong will be available for selection for our Premier League season opener against Liverpool on Sunday," read a Spurs statement. "Given he served the first game of his ban against Aston Villa on the final day of the previous campaign as a Newcastle player, it meant the suspension continued to apply to Newcastle games. "It was therefore satisfied when his former club visited West Brom on the opening day of the Championship season on Saturday." Bassong is set to partner Ledley King on Sunday. If he was a Spurs player then he wasn't available for us so surely he has one more game to serve?
