trophyshy 7066
Given all the chaos and mismanagement we do learn of, imagine all the fuck ups behind the scenes we hear nothing about? If we still have Ashley in a year it could really be liquidation.
Asprilla 96
All part of the 5 year plan. What year we on now again? Minus two? I know, I know. It LOOKS like they're just lurching from one crisis to the next, saying one thing and doing and doing another...and ok, I know relegation LOOKS like a bad thing but hold tight, what do we know? They've run casinos and everything!
Guest alex
Still, Bassong sort of got what he wished for, but he'll be dissapointed a big club never came in for him. To go back to a post I made elsewhere, I have it from the lad himself that he didnt want to leave, was happy to stay and would accept £25k a week, the club would only offer £17k and in his words (sounds better in a French accent) "there are lazy bastards there earning £40k+ thats why I want £25k". To put it into perspective, we allegedly pay Colos agent £28k per week! So an agent is worth £11k more than our player of last season. Sounds about right. What makes me laugh (then cry) is that for all the talk about the club "haemorrhaging money" under Shepherd and the Halls you hear more and more about ridiculous wages to people like Wise, Colocinni, fucking Xisco, Kinnear, etc., etc. all agreed by Ashley and co. sandman02uk 0
Fairly disappointed to be honest, he worked hard last year and played with a passion that was lacking from alot of our high earners I was looking forward to a CB pairing of Bassong/Taylor This just reeks of the Club seeling whoever they can when the offer comes in, rather than something driven by the player
Jimbo 172
Apparently the clincher of the deal was the Slazenger tennis racket, the Dunlop putter and the Lonsdale trainers that Ashley agreed to throw in.
Ayatollah Hermione 13760
While £8 or £10 million would ordinarily be good business, we'll not see any of the money spent on the squad and he won't be replaced.

Tooj 17
Knew we were going to lose him, but the way he went about it has been all wrong. But he done exactly the same with Metz when we bought him. He will be a good signing for them though, strong, quick, calm and composed. By no means anywhere near the finished article as he does have a tendency to man handle people a bit too much, but has the attributes to be a very good central defender. Also disproved the myth that the players around him aren't the reason why players in that position play poorly, he just has it. Take note of that Stevie Taylor. sammynb 3342
So what they turn down 10m then agree to let him go for 8m?!?? Fuck off, something has to be done about these clowns asap. Pud there must be some recourse that the supports group can take with the FA, isn't there?

sammynb 3342
Turning down £10m was never actually confirmed was it? It was just a rumour? Either way it's fucking ludicrous, just like everything these cunts do. He's been with us 12 months, send him out on loan - 8m isn't worth it to anyone but the cunt who will pocket the fee. Billy Whitehurst 885
Good signing for Spurs, good fee for us. £7.5m profit for someone with only one Premier League season behind him isn't a bad bit of business for us. I don't begrudge the lad a transfer at all. He was our best player last season and was also our lowest paid. If I was in the same situation, I'd have done the same. I hope he does well at Spurs. Barney 0
£8mill for Bassong. Glad we rejected that £10m bid last week, so. Between this and the Given deal, we're proving to be shrewd heads in the transfer window.

Chaser 1199
How on earth is this good business? Young promising defender who we manage to get for very little, and going by Pud's source he wanted to stay. £8 million good deal eh? Makes the £10 million we paid for Colin Cheeney look like a steal doesnt it? The money isnt even going back into the transfer fund, its simply going into that bastards pocket to soften the blow of losing so much cash. I despair.
