I love Shearer, I think he can do the job, but right now I'd choose Keegan though no matter what people say his enthusiasm is infectious, he's had 3 promotions, and is experienced.

Well said. I think either could be great under the right circumstances.

K**gan can fuck off.

This post is brought to you by Newcastle-Online ©

I really don't understand these types of constant remarks... I actively post on both and the spectrum of opinions on pretty much all matters is the same.

I was suggesting that 'fuck off Keegan' is the sort of thing I'd expect to read on N-O, probably from someone too young remember the galvanising effect he had on this club, this city as both a player and a manager. He has done more for our club in my lifetime than anyone else and I think he deserves better than that.

I'd prefer Shearer to take charge. I think Keegan has had his time now, and has quit twice already. A third time would just look stupid.

Because NUFC have never been made to look stupid before have they?

Of course they have have. However that would be on another level altogether imo.

I don't mind saying I'm a Keegan delusionalist he could take us to the Conference and he'd still have my full support.

I can't disagree with the Keegan sentiments but think we just have to move on. Al.

This.

Have hods of lurve etc for the wee man, but time to move on a bit. Mind, Shearer/Keegan combo, whilst totally impractical and pie in the sky, would make me do a sex wee.

Exactly.

I think Shearer could be a great manager in the making and more importantly; if you listen to the players there's no doubt about who they want as their manager.

As a neutral, I can assure you, Newcastle will be seen as a big joke from everyone else if Keegan returned. All the usual 'Geordie fans and their Messiahs' talk will start up again. Shearer should be given a chance to develop and become a real manager.

Shearer. I think going back to Keegan would be foolish. He's a great man in my eyes and certainly if there could be a role for him att he club I'd like for that to happen. But Shearer has the opportunity to gain experience in a lower league against lesser opposition, he's got the chance of a new owner (hopefully) and with that, a fresh start. He could build his team, playing to his ethos. He's more in touch with the modern game imo and he'd (perversely) have less of a burden of expectation about his ability to manage us.

Also he's the messiah and stuff.

100% agree with you here mate.

Keegan would sell seats, play great football and with the right backing get us up and back into Europe, guaranteed.

All about as guaranteed as him walking out

Do you think before you die, you will actually get it in your head that WE DONT FUCKIN CARE??!?!?!! I'm quite flattered people think we're important enough to hold a strong opinion about.

The last thing i care about is what those sackless bunch of wankers (the players) want.

I would love keegan. I would also be happy for Al to have a go but definately unsure whether he has the x factor.

Keegan oooooooooooozzzzzzzzzzzzzzed the x factor.

I agree, Keegan has the EX factor

Honestly, couldn't care one jot what other fans or media think.

Agree 100%.

The sheer glee of the average fan who thinks he's a comedy genius for repeating some tired cliche about us is like watching a pissed bloke suddenly see a kebab shop when he wasn't expecting to see one.

The upside is that it makes me feel thankful for the superior intelligence, reasoning and class I possess over them, plus the relief that I support a club that actually means something.

I think that's it , I couldn't give a flying chuff what fans of other teams think. Other fans would kill for the connection felt with the club and manager we've had when Keegan's been in charge, the sheer delight and excitement of it all - no other team's had that and it boils their piss :nufc:

As much as I admire Keegan and what he did for us both as a player and a manager I can't help but have that niggling little doubt that he's capable of walking out of the kitchen when it gets unsuitably hot for his liking. He has a track record for doing that so I will go with Shearer.

New blood, new broom, new league, new start, and maybe Shearer could bring to the Toon what Keegan did in his first shot at management after an illustrious career as a player.

Shearer.

Like others have said, I just think we have to move on and try something new. Then again, I said I didn't want KK back last time, yet when it was announced I was as excited as anyone, so I'm possibly just talking shite.
