Tom 14021
To be honest I don't think anyone has any real reason to go. I was tempted but then nobody fancied going with me so I left it, just as well it sounds boring enough! Either way 17k against a league one team is decent. If it wasn't a shit small club like them with small time fans from Yorkshire in a lower league, I'd have went. This is a club who in it's entire history has NEVER averaged over 40,000. Small club from Yorkshire, I really see no difference between them and Huddersfield Town. Huddersfield is more of a traditional football town than Leeds, which in essence devotes itself to cricket, rugby and supporting out of town clubs like Newcastle and Man Utd. Being situated where they are in the middle of the country really, with a catchment area like that, they are disgrace not to take 10,000 away every week, but as I said it's not a football town, never will be. The football cities of Britain are in order London, Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle. Leeds is even behind your Birmingham's and Wearside's. I think Sunderland AFC is 10000 times more important to Wearside than Leeds AFC is to Leeds. Edited July 29, 2009 by Stevie
Guest Stevie
I think people from West Yorkshire generally are as big as tramps as scousers, scousers don't realise they're tramps though they're so deluded but there's something about the shitcatcher pants mentality of Yorkshire people that they understand what they are. Acid 0
Boring, depressing and Leeds fans are pure cunts. Also would like to add my congratulations to the abysmal box office who supposedly got us the closest they possibly could to the away fans, we weren't that far way, although there were plenty of seats closer. The only thing about the match which was interesting was the streaker, which made me laugh, along with the amount of missed chances. Barton should have received MON, played well. acrossthepond 896
Guardian .......One player who would be certain to leave Tyneside should Alan Shearer eventually be appointed Newcastle's manager is Joey Barton. The midfielder hardly enhanced his reputation last night when he was lucky to escape unpunished after body-checking Fabian Delph - who shone for League One Leeds - in an incident apparently unseen by the referee. You mean he fouled a player? Oh no, get your torches and tinder! What a joke Don't get me wrong, I hate his guts, but Barton could give his year's salary to the "Cute Kitties Cancer Research Fund For Malnourished Children" and still get ran up for it in the press. dbsweeney 0
OT, kinda ... Just reading the words 'Dirty Leeds' on the thread's title. Has anyone here read 'The damned United'. What a bloody great read. Just one long angry rant. Not seen the film, mind you. Heard it was completely toothless and turned it into a comedy of sorts? Eh? Meenzer 15836
Another streaker? There was one during the Sir Bobby match too. Let me guess, we're cutting back on security costs?

That piece is wrong on every level - for a start if he couldn't see that Barton wasn't the best player on the pitch he shouldn't be allowed near a football match, Delph was anonimous and Bartons' worst tackle (and only bookable offence) was late in the game on the touchline when he lunged and took the lads ankle. This type of reporting is annoying but hopefully might keep other interested parties away from buying Barton - he is a wanker but he is good

It was just a late tackle, nothing malicious involved at all. Just a late tackle.

Stevie,I have never heard so much crap in all of my life. How is Leeds a shit small club? Granted we are not as big as Newcastle United but for someone to compare us to Huddersfield suggest how little you know about football.Ok, we never used to get 52k each week in the prem but we filled what is allowed at Elland Road,(40k). If we had an extra tier build like you did at St james's then we would have no doubt filled it. Our worldwide fan base is massive, probably well within the top 6 of any english team in the country. Even in league one we still had a higher season attendance than a third of the premier league teams and two thirds of the championship teams last season. Hmmm, and you call us a small shit club.??!! I would be lying if I said we were more passionate about football than the geordies. I know we arn't, however my girlfriend is from Newcastle and I have a lot of Geordie mates who would disagree with what you said. Before we got relegated from the prem I always remember being above you for some of the 90's. How many times did you win the prem again in that decade? It proves what a big club we still are when we are still hated and rivaled by Man Utd,not on the pitch but still as a club in general. Not a thing to be proud of nevertheless.!!! You have to remember one thing.Leeds have been laughed at over the last few years. We may continue to be laughed at but I do know that Newcastle have recently taken the limelight from us.We are a league one team that has had to build from scratch and what I have seen recently Newcastle have a long long way to go also before they hit the big time again. Your club is in the shit big time and this is just the beginning. The players you fronted at St James's on Wednesday are worth 10 times the price of ours but you couldn't take hold of the game against a league one Leeds team and I thought we played really bad, especially after a fine performance that outplayed Blackburn for 90 minutes 3 days earlier. If that was a vast improvement over that battering Leyton Orient gave you then I dread to think where you will end up at the end of the season.I was actually disappointed the result only ended in a draw to be honest. My money is on the fact you won't make the top 10 let alone top 2 this season and you would be deluded to think otherwise.I really hope you do go up though. So Stevie. I suggest you get off your high horse and face the fact you are also not a big club anymore, you are a championship team now at the very best that needs sorting out.The big boy teams are now Hull City and Sunderland.Im not ashamed to admit that....are you? Our rivals teams this season are now the likes of Millwall,Norwich and Charlton same as your rival teams are now Blackpool,Doncaster and Barnsley. Like I say.Im not ashamed to admit we are not famous and big anymore. It's time you did the same.!!!! Edited July 31, 2009 by bazzles
Tom 14021
If we are taken over in the next two weeks, some out, some in, manager appointed. We will be straight back up, perhaps this season if not next.
