Martins will play in a lone striking role with Kevin Nolan continuing in the supporting role which has yielded two goals in the last two matches.

 

Alan Smith takes the armband in midfield where he is joined by Damien Duff, Joey Barton and Jonas Gutierrez.

 

Tim Krul starts in goal with a back four of Habib Beye, Steven Taylor, Fabricio Coloccini and Jose Enrique operating in front of the Dutchman.

Makes absolutely no sense with Beye and Taylor both in the starting line up too.

Lee Ryder: It's a bad start for the Toon with Orient scoring after just three minutes. The goal came after a scuffle between Thornton and Barton which ended in Barton's shirt being torn nearly in half.

 

Lee Ryder: Following Barton's foul the referee granted a free kick which saw Dmitriou curl the ball in to be headed past Tim Krul by Jimmy Smith.
