accadacca 0
The back 5 and midfield will be as near as dammit to the one that plays at WBA although Duff will play left side. Martins upfront with Carroll if fit by then, otherwise Shola. Anyone else agree ?

The CCC is a total load of shite - I watched loads of it last season and f$$k me, if Wolves and Brum are the best then the rest must be woeful - and they are. Ok so that team I mentioned might have been crap last season - but it was in the PREMIER LEAGUE ffs. I challenge anyone to name 6 clubs that will keep this squad out of even the play offs - and don't just assume that players will go - NO ONE KNOWS. ASSUME = ASS OF YOU AND ME. If the likes of WBA, Smogs, Cardiff, Preston, Reading, QPR, Forest are all we have got to worry about, then no sleep will be lost here. BRING THE FECKER ON. Bassong will be a miss but he's not Beckenbauer. Colocinni will be ok in the CCC - so a back 5 of Harps, Taylor, Enrique, Tayor and Colo. Which teams strikers are going to have a field day ??? GAN ON, NAME ME ONE.

My point was more you were having a pop at people for making the assumption a lot of players will go when you're assuming they'll nearly all stay. Seems fairly reasonable to assume most will be available at anything like a decent offer, given that was the policy when we were in a league above, let alone one where the wages at the club are now astronomical. Park Life 71
I can't really see a total meltdown competitively as the CCC bar five or six sides isn't really all that.

acrossthepond 878
They will all raise their games against us. And I doubt the players we've got now will be up for it. Barring a few, none of them looked like they cared against PL opposition. How about when it's January 22nd in the pissing cold away at Peterborough in a half-empty stadium and some thuggish Lincolnshire-born "defensive midfielder" they've absolutely never heard of is kicking the shit out of them at every possible opportunity. These wasters just aren't good enough. Maybe on paper they are, but we've been a good side "on paper" for years and it has never materialised. Giraffidae 0
I think they will be up for it (for a change) motivated by being on TV, desperate to get their agents to find new clubs as they’re in the shop window. Mind, most of them could be gone before then anyway.
Percy Street 0
Thing is that squad should not have been relegated from the premiership and yes it would / should be too good for most Championship sides. Thing is we need to sell a fair few of them to avoid financial meltdown. So while I take Acca's point that team / squad would do more than ok, it simply won't get the chance unless some rich Arab gets all tearful over his Grandad being born in Blaydon. Or something. The club as it is can't / can't afford to bring players in and there isn't really anyone to do it. Financial imperative dictates it must sell and I'm sure we will. Without a takeover we look screwed and I normally live on the sunny side of the street, honest (renewed me ticket, stupid or whaat). First time on here, howdy to one and all.
