LeazesMag 0
help required pse. Booted up the PC and for some reason it did a chkdsk. WMP won't work, it says I'm missing file gdiplus.dll My original version was version 9, upgraded with the XP upgrade [i think] to version. It won't let me uninstall version 11 which I've just did from microsoft and I need to uninstall to install afresh.

Nyff 0
Should be able to download the missing .dll by running a Google search for it. When you have downloaded it I think you can right click > install. If not, you have to put it in somewhere like C:/WINDOWS/SYSTEM. Can't remember for sure, though. LeazesMag 0
odd last hour or so....... I uninstalled windows media player by going into Add/Remove Windows Components. It took away my internet explorer.....installed new version 7 [prev I had used 6 and not touched it because it worked]. and version 7 detected my settings and modem but something was wrong [the last time I installed version 7 I took it off because this happened]. So I uninstalled it again, and for some reason version 6 is back !!!! I know version 6 is being phased out soon, so I really need to change my browser to something which works. My internet connection is Freeserve/wannadoo/orange, I have stuck with it because its excellent and has never given me any bother with connections and disconnections. I want this change to go smoothly without any fuss and messing around ....... while I am at it, I would consider changing from orange I may as well go the whole hog. WMP still doesn't work by the way, which is a blow because I like it. I would like to get it working again.

LeazesMag 0
looked on another PC, saw that the system32 folder is supposed to have this file. Put it in..........and bingo. WMP and Real Player back working again. Odd how it happened like. Just as strange is how uninstalling windows media player takes internet explorer with it. I ended up restoring the PC to how it was by using the "add remove windows components" a few times. Still not sure about upgrading my IE from version, why the fuck does version 7 change settings and not work [i have configured google account to read through outlook express for some email accounts but this shouldn't effect your browser or should it ?]
