Kitman 2207
I've no faith in Shola. Still we may have no choice, and you never know. I assume Shola's the horse? Seriously Parky, what makes you think he would be an asset to the team in the CCC? I haven't seen him play for a long while but has he improved? iirc he couldn't hold the ball up, rarely struck the ball cleanly, let defenders off the hook by giving away obvious fouls all game long, little heading ability, little awareness of team mates around him. Generally spent the game lolloping around at a snail's pace, huffing at the ref, sulking when he was ignored, with the odd dribble up a blind alley and no end product. Never chased down defenders either. And this is Shola at his peak Is he really better than Carroll?
acrossthepond 892
He can head the ball to be fair to him. Although my enduring memory of him will not be goals at the Camp Nou, but being called offside on a free kick taken from within our own half at Derby in 2007. I do think Carroll is better. I can't remember him scoring with his head apart from that Barca game? Maybe I'm being unfair. He's certainly a crap target man and can't find his teammates with his head. wykikitoon 21045
No He is too lazy and its a big physical grafting league. My mate is a season ticket holder at Sheff Weds and he said when he was on loan at Stoke the young full back (18 years old) at Sheff Weds had Strola in his back pocket all game. I dont see Strola picking his game up at all. I, however, hope he proves us wrong.
trophyshy 7084
agreed I reckon Carroll will do well, however don't rule out a decent bid coming in for him and Ashley selling him 2 days before the start of the season to keep things running along till Xmas. Scored with a good header. The dubious one you're on about was in the same game and came off Caldwell last (although I think Shola was awarded that goal subsequently).
