Monkeys Fist 43687
I know its a bit morbid, but has anyone picked their "funeral songs"? I had to organise a funeral a while back, and no instructions or wishes had been left- made it tricky picking appropriate stuff. It got the family talking and we all made our "final wishes" known including music to be played at the planting. You're allowed 4 ( in the Humanist service) 1) The Welcome- as people come into the crem/ church/ etc 2) The Reflection- played while people have private reflections/ prayer/ whatever 3) The Commital- into the fire so to speak 4) Goodbye- as people leave Mine are currently 1) So What - Miles Davis 2) Nimrod - Enigma Variations Elgar 3) Thickfreakness- The Black Keys 4) Born Slippy- Underworld Anyone fancy posting your 4 ( you never know ) Edited July 17, 2009 by Monkeys Fist

Monkeys Fist 43687
Humanist ceremonies are pretty flexible, and non religious. My choice when I peg it.

Cid_MCDP 0
Just a Man is fucking brilliant. I've told my wife ever since we got together that I want, "Lay Me Low" by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. It's the ultimate funeral song. EDIT: Ah! Here ya go... Toonraider 0
I have always wanted Clannad-Theme from Harry's game. Its haunting and beautiful. I chose it for my Dads funeral and it was very moving. Mind, it totally did us in when it came on but it was perfect, Dad's half Irish too so it was just spot on. Just tried listening to it again actually but too soon yet I'd also like U2's October, short but very moving. Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah maybe. Paul Weller-You do something to me Ave Maria. (the version from the film Hitman)
johnthebrief 0
I'll have to think about the first three, but number four would definitely be "I'll be on my way" by the Saw Doctors
