I dont know safari, but Id imagine you need to set something in it to say always use it as defaut? equally, if you have firefox installed you may need to reverse a similar setting in that. Usually something prompts you though and sets everything itself? Is it just outlook links or links from anything?

What system are you using vista/xp other? You can set this in vista by going start - default programs....

 

XP....I'd set Safari as the default in the control panel though. Weird. All sorted now though.
