Andrew Flintoff 0
All I'm looking for a decent iPod dock (along the lines of the Bose SoundDock, but cheaper) for the living room. Needs to look nice, not too many wires and have a remote and nice sound. Anyone recommend any (pref under £100...)

Given that the Bose one only sounds ok, you might be as well going for a really cheap and nasty one as opposed to a ~£100 one.

Andrew 4969
Amp + Speakers + 3mm Jack To Phono. Sorted. pretty much what I use, would like a nice dock though since the new ipods dont have a mains charger (or mine doesnt at least) remote too
Tom 14021
Yeah that's the benefit of a dock I suppose. For me the main problem is their shelf life, they tend to fuck up quite quickly unless you spend decent money. So I will take the rough with the smooth and suffer charging the damn thing from the PS3/PC.
Andrew Flintoff 0
Yeah I've pondered the hifi, jack, phono route but the wires get on my nerves, and I'd like to hit the remote to change tracks Thanks for the suggestions so far.

Sorted. how do you do this with an amp and speakers? im not sure how it works sorry if i sound very dumb maybe you could pm me to explain. connect it via RCA input (the white and red sockets at the rear of the amp) and the headphone socket on the iPod, bit of a naff way of doing it in my opinion as you ideally you'd want a system where it charges your iPod at the same time. Happy Face 29
Fucking hell That's not the top model either. You could go for the XXL.... Which is a snip at £2500. You'd struggle to take it with you and use it it in your hotel like.

Not had it long and the only problem I have is that the signal is not the best for the DAB however I very much put this down to the location in the flat. However 5 Live works perfectly for my needs. MrBass 2815
I've got one of these and the sound is fantastic. Only downside is that because of Apple removing the firewire circuitry in the latest iPods it doesn't charge the iPod touch 2G or Nano 4G (or iPhone I'm guessing). Well my one doesn't, not sure if a new model's been released that does. If interested, Clicky
