Jimbo 175
Alan Shearer's future at Newcastle will be a step closer to being resolved this week as owner Mike Ashley expects to receive two formal bids for the club of around £90million. One of the bidders is keen to install Shearer as manager with negotiations, being brokered by banker Keith Harris, continuing. Though Shearer's future is not yet guaranteed, he will be installed in charge of the Championship side next season if that bidder turns out to be Ashley's preferred choice. But Newcastle are still in a state of flux with just six weeks until the start of the Football League season and players due to arrive back at pre-season training early next month. peasepud 59
Wasnt this already meant to have happened 2 weeks ago? Eggfookinsactly. They opened the data room a fortnight ago and the next day were excitedly talking about two bids being in, every day we hear about how its progressing and the two bidders are going through the motions. Now we're back at stage two.
Fop 1
Probably means any "genuine" bidders (if indeed there are any at all), actually can't afford the club, even at £90m.

Kitman 2207
I don't think the papers have any more idea than we do. Generally anything to do with the sale negotiations will be kept confidential anyway.

Norbert Colon 0
Every fucking time they have one of these moveable deadlines I just assuming they're lying again. More made up shit just to fill some column inches - its all bollocks - i don't beleive there are any buyers and until the club changes hands i will assume its all lies. Why is their a veil of secrecy over the supposed bidders? everyother buyout, whilst not conducted in the public eye, the proposers have at least made themselves known. Its just fuckin shite being fed to an information starved set of supporters.

Jimbo 175
Rumour has it: Purchase price agreed and funds proven but things to finalise: - KK Compo - Overdraft (said to be around £40m) - £15m that Ashley spent on players out of his own pocket - Promotion bonus (If we get promoted in the first year, Ashley wants another £20m or something like that)

The last Assley should have a heart attack for, if there were anything approaching natural justice in the Universe.
