Got him a card that apparently My sister "forgot" to put in his suitcase. Despite the fact she put her own card in there.

So I'll just phone him I suppose.

Might buy a pint for a change too... mebbes.

Considering a tour is normally a tenner, that's not bad.

I would've really fancied that in years gone by, but I'm in full-on 'No More Geordie Cash For Ashley' mode now and will be until any prospective new owner proves their worth.

Father's Day is a pathetic invention of the Greetings Card Trade

I 've told my lot that they're out of the will if they recognise it....................

My dad died back in August after a particulary distressing 6 months. (for him and us) :icon_lol: Anyhow a couple of days ago I went in a card shop to choose a card for my father in law, instantly saw one that would have been spot on for my dear ole Dad, so had to get out quick as I was welling up :icon_lol: Felt abit of a prat really, but just couldnt stay in there.

Sorry for your loss, Toon. My pops and I basically didn't speak for 10 years, but we're cool now and I dread the day I put him in the ground. He's a good guy.

As for what I got him, I got lucky. A work friend of mine from Pittsburgh went back to visit just a couple weeks ago during the Pens Cup run. My dad's a massive Pens fan, so I had my friend pick up a bunch of "locals only" type shit that he can't just find on NHL.com. Just a bunch of random shit really, but I think he'll be pleased.

Got a nice bottle of aftershave from the missus and 6month old.

My dad is away at the minute, but I'll possibly pick him up the dvd of Irelands nations campaign.

Sorry TR.

Thank you sweetie.

Lost my little brother nearly 2 years ago. The most innocuous things still sometimes catch me unawares. Nowt to be ashamed of if you shed a tear now and then.

Days like today and birthdays can be tough at first, but the old cliché of thinking about happy memories does actually work.

Keep on keeping on TR.

Thanks, 10 years is along time, thats a real shame, make the most of the time you have now, which I'm sure you do.

You're a darling, so sorry to hear about your brother. Thats so awful and so wrong I dont think we ever get over our losses but time makes it easier to bear.

Bev - this year must have been terrible for you. Can't imagine losing my dad so I can't ever really understand, but my thoughts are with you and yours :icon_lol:

My dad received this picture of his grandson, made up into a box print for the wall..

Of all the people you could have compared him to! :icon_lol:

He's definitely got Shearer's hair at the minute like.

Thanks Cath, I do appreciate all of your thoughtful words. So often, you lot have cheered me up when I've felt crappy and made me really laugh.

By the way I love all your 'arty' black and white pics of little man but that one is my favourite, he looks so wise and so cuddly. :icon_lol:
