Scottish Mag 3
Shearer is also understood to have lined up a move for Leeds United’s prolific centre-forward Jermaine Beckford and is also keeping a close eye on former United defender Andy Griffin’s position at Stoke City. Griffin, who made 103 appearances for the Magpies between 1998-2004, played with Shearer at St James’s Park and, although predominantly a right-back, he, like Gunter, can play on both flanks. The 30-year-old returned to first club Stoke last summer but has fallen out with manager Tony Pulis and wants to move on. He said: “I would say (my chances) are bleak to say the least. “I haven’t started since the game at West Ham (when he was involved in an on-field spat with team-mate Ricardo Fuller), so I don’t think it takes a rocket scientist to understand where I stand in the manager’s thoughts. “All I can say is I had a fall-out with the manager and, as a result of that, was not in the team. “Sometimes I wasn’t travelling and was cutting the grass at 3pm on a Saturday. “It is disappointing, but that is what happens when you fall out with the boss. “But if and when I go, I will thank the manager for bringing me back home.”

Besty 4
I see Darren Ambrose has been released too confirmed going to Crystal Palace Aye, just checked Wikipedia. Also saw this... Ambrose married his wife, Rachel, in a ceremony in Clearwater, Florida in May 2007. They have a daughter, Jessica, who was born in September 2007. Rumours weren't true then. Ayatollah Hermione 13760
Can't wait to see him put wingers in the stands with mental tackles again. Lots of links with Beckford too so there could be legs in that, despite the lack of quotes or owt substantial. Probably just the media running with it regardless though. Ally 0
Its going to be hard getting our heads round signing shit players. Edit - I know we've bought shit players for years but they've normally been good at some point in their lives! Edited June 5, 2009 by Ally

Tom 14011
That was a weird game. Juventus in their home strip, us in our away. I remember Hughes snapping Nedved too

sniffer 0
I didn't think Griffin was a bad player but at 30, if we haven't been able to develop a better young fullback we might as well give up.

I dont think the ref even gave a foul edit: or was it 4-0? My memory is shit Edited June 5, 2009 by Kid Dynamite
