Mike Ashley - Statement

Think the difference now is that Ashley is motivaded by what he loves most, money. Don't think he's the type to walk away from a big loss (200 mill or so) and will instead be doing everything he can to get it back.

Yes he is, he shuts down shops and companies that arent performing well enough. What he doesnt do is invest in them, give them a makeover and pump in cash for new staff to get them performing.

he's in a quandry eh? I think he would take a small loss on the sale, but retain the £100m debt and place interest on it so at least he has some income from his debacle. He may well try and clear some of that £100m with the whole squad being up for sale.

Imagine the furore if he hadn't offered this "apology"

Not really arsed either way, which I reckon will be the overriding mood.

I'm not really sure about Shearer - the lack of fight bothers me - but it seems like this is his time. He will get more time than anyone else so Ashley has to go for it. Although I still hope he fucks off as far away as possible.

You have to hope it was the situation, although even if it wasn't now is still the best time for a Shearer disaster.

The issue still remains about whether or not he has the vision to achieve this. It's not like he planned on sending us down but he gave a masterclass on how to relegate a side in a season where 35 points would have been enough. Buddha bleated!

Not sure there's ever been such a clear a Premiership example of how to get a club, that shouldn't on it's worst day have been relegated, actually relegated.

Just hope the lesson ends there.

You lot are fucking delusional. Shearer was a brilliant player and someone who cares about the club but that's it. It's no wonder poeple take the piss out of us with the whole messiah thing.

and if you point to one post who says that he is a Messiah I'll happily apologise on their behalf.

If you cannot see the position of power that Shearer is currently in, you're either blind or stupid.

Of course I can see his position of power but I seriously doubt the first thing he's doing with it is demanding an apology on behalf of the fans.

He'll be securing funds and control and no doubt sorting out a healthy pay packed.

And I never said anyone has called him the messiah but your all putting him on a massive pedestal and it's just amunition to people to like to take the piss out of us.

To be honest it strikes me as something that Alan Shearer would have said. It wouldn't have been "right you fat bastard, get out there and grovel like a discovered adulterer"

more likely "I think the first thing is there needs to be an apology to the fans, they're the ones who've been let down."

I can hear him saying it tbh.

Talks are now ongoing between us about how we can take this Club forward again.

One word too many there Mike.

 Might just mean they're talking about it again. Shouldn't have made it that ambiguous though.
