Understudy to Kevin Carr, need I say more? Played a handful of games the season before I think Craig, which is probably what you remember. I think Kelly was number one that season (i.e. 87/88).

Aye he didn't play in 88/89 but was on the books still for 2 months.

Season before he started as first choice but dislocated his shoulder in the League Cup against Blackpool. Tinnion went in goal IIRC. Kelly took over and had such a good run that Thomas never got another look in.

It's like a statto's dream here today mind!

I wonder if we could reconise them in a photo? ;)

Well this one's Gary Kelly...

Check out that shoulderpad-tastic keeper shirt too - I had one of those, they were class ;)

Who's the kid in between McDonald and Mirandinha. Michael O'NEILL looks young there.

I that's who I was going to say. Haven't seen him for years but occassionally used to play football with him on Battle Hill school field when I was a bairn.

Those training tops were class btw, I used to have one.

I always wanted one of the training tops but could never find one. I had the tracksuit which was essentially the same but full zipped.

L to R: Neil McDonald, Anth Lormor, Mirandinha, Peter Jackson, Glenn Roeder, Darren Jackson, Michael O'Neill, John Anderson (yes Tom, that's him ;)), Gary Kelly.

Shame O'Neill moved on tbh. Stuck with us until relegation but Jim Smith sold him for peanuts on the eve of the new season to Dundee United as he couldn't stand him and was desperate to get rid.

The sale of McDonald & Jackson (along with Tinnion, Stephenson & Goddard) contributed massively to our relegation IMO. Everyone focuses in on Gazza but IIRC he was sent off twice in his final season for us and we played well without him. We finished 8th and had the foundations to push on but we went backwards.
