For those that are a fan of cop shows, the main actress is superb, the producer wrote line of duty and the writer of this show, was in line of duty.

I've just started to watch the first one again to jog the memory before getting the new series fired up.

Was just about to come on here to post about that. The first series was actually based on the first two books about Cromwell, not just Wolf Hall. So this will be the final series. The first one was fucking superb like. Rylance in particular. Honourable mention to the late Bernard Hill who was brilliant, not to mention hilarious, as the Duke of Norfolk

Last episode of the penguin. Fucking hell, that was grim. Best origin story ever. Farell would get an Oscar for this were it a film. Instead he puts in 6 times the work and will probably only get a Emmy.  Such is life.

Wasn’t them. 
 

Ray solved it through sheer determination and some terrible writing. 
 

At least I think that was what happened- it was hard to follow the story because of all the “ SHE’S AN ASIAN WOMAN COPPER!” bits that were shoehorned in every 30 seconds.

The accused mutters something about curry because of racism. DI Asian Copper’s body language changes in reaction, her eye twitches, perhaps there is a flash back of when she was racially abused as a child at school.

 

She composes herself and batters the suspect with facts because DI Asian Copper may be many things, but she is NOT a stereotype who is defined by her ethnicity because this is a well written show that would NEVER pull that borderline intelligence insulting, offensive shit on our audiences.

Do I need to watch that Batman film before watching it? If so, I’m fucked because finding time to watch a 3 hour film these days is nigh on impossible

Naah, I didn't, it's standalone. Batman isn't even mentioned save a brief sort of cameo. Similar to the Joker film (first one). The Penguin is more a gangster series than anything to do with super heroes, albeit set in the dark fantastical city of Gotham. 

As for 3 hour films, I don't have the time any more, so I just do my own "serialisation", unless I'm lucky enough to get to the cinema.
