Anorthernsoul 1221
Finally got round to watching Lilyhammer, worth the wait. Van Zandt is superb.
Kid Dynamite 7182
Did you see that one about the *ahem* older ladies? It was mint when the 84 year old was reading out the text messages she got. Plus they all seemed to be into it because they liked having sex with strangers rather than being desperate for the money so it wasn't as depressing as the subject of prostitution usually is Not yet but I will now

toonotl 3116
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2966760/ Pantani - Accidental death of a cyclist Thanks Ant. I'll have to give this a look. Loved the Pirate. The doped up cheating bugger that he was.
Tooj 17
As you would expect it romanticises a hell of a lot about him.
Gemmill 46093
Aye, it's a decent watch, but it takes a very very easy and light-touch view of his doping. Compare it with the documentaries that have come out on Armstrong in the past couple of years - I totally get that Armstong gets a lot of that cos he was a bully and set out to ruin anyone who might expose him, but there is a balance to be had and this Pantani doc goes way the wrong way on it. toonotl 3116
Yeah. I know the Italians loved him. I can see why the doco makers would take a soft approach though apart from simply playing for their audience. From what I've read about Pantani it seemed he was a pretty sensitive soul. Suffered from depression and the like and was a deeply flawed individual. That alone makes him more relatable and more of a sympathetic character imo. Whilst LA on the other hand was/is a complete top shelf narcissistic sociopathic prick who routinely ruined numerous people's lives for over a decade. I think on the whole cycling copes a lot more flak than it deserves as being rife with doping simply because they acknowledge it exists. I don't particularly think pro cycling is more/less dirty than any other top level sport reliant on anaerobic performance. On Pantani, he was, for me, the best climber of his generation no question. Armstrong was just a super-responder using the most sophisticated doping regime that's ever been undertaken in any sport.
Anorthernsoul 1221
Watched Mccullin last night, hard hitting, intense and for the most part really shocking. Brilliant watch, he's a character that governments would never allow to work in this day and age, I'd love to see some of his photos that he would have been prevented from printing over the years, or on the other hand maybe not. Gemmill 46093
That's on Netflix, might give it a watch. True Detective is back.... Not sure about Vince Vaughan. I'm sure it'll end up being better than most stuff on TV though.

Aye, I'll give it a few episodes, but Vince Vaughan and Colin Farrell don't really stack up against Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson in the acting stakes, do they? Anybody heard any good things about the Jack Black/Tim Robbins satirical spy caper?
Happy Face 29
Up to date on game of thrones. Last episode was a bit of an anti climax after the battle with the white walkers which was absolute class apart from the odd moment it went into transformers mode with the editing. Lots of predictable stuff went down in the last episode though. The introduction of the delayed poison and antidote was crowbarred into position so ham fistedly it's later use was guaranteed. Similarly that kid who wouldn't shut up about the wildlings ransacking his village was clearly going to do what he did from 5 episodes earlier. Enjoyed doing 2 series in a fortnight or so though. Gemmill 46093
Watched the first season of Rectify. About a bloke that gets released from prison when DNA evidence exonerates him, having spent 19 years on death row for rape and murder. It was good, got the second season sat waiting. Gemmill 46093
Don't watch it expecting a Fox TV show where he sets about being junior detective and trying to catch the man that put him in jail. It's mostly about how much prison has fucked him up and how his family and hometown feels about him. Who knows though, he may be about to get his magnifying glass and deerstalker out in season 2. Ayatollah Hermione 14069
Aye, Rectify is excellent. Also, it has Abigail Spencer in it who is quite comfortably lush.

The blurb reads like exactly the kind of tv show I'd avoid, it all sounds a bit Revenge-y, but if the Singularity suggests it, I'll give a whirl. Gemmill 46093
It's a Sundance TV production so it's all a bit indie feeling. I've seen half of the first season of Revenge and it was brutal.
ewerk 31228
Currently watching the new series of Veep and still amazed how JLD has gone from not at all sexy during her Seinfeld years to someone I desperately want to bang now she's in her 50's. Remarkable.
