Gemmill 49267
Spoilers coming... Charlotte fucked it by pulling that shit to frame Freddie with the Leanne murder. It was so stupid, she should have murdered Frankie that night because everyone left suspected everyone but her. Once she'd done that and Freddie realised what she'd done, there was no chance a traitor could win. The seer thing didn't help but I think Charlotte's misplay is what really knacked the ending. I still thought it was great telly though.

I still thought it was great telly though. Okay now I'm allowed to speak. Yes to all that. Charlotte tried to be too clever, Freddie understandably dropped her in it and cos Alexander had helped Frankie she won the seer and sussed out Charlotte. BUT the two new rule changes ruined it. The Seer just makes it a random chance to out a traitor. In this case the last traitor. As the seer does not have to reveal their own nature, this gives them a huge advantage. Charlotte was fucked. AND even worse is now in the final showdown nobody reveals what they are. What's the point in that? It's in everybody's interest to go down to the final 2 as that reduces the chance of a traitor AND it increases the pot for the 2 winners. This will happen every time now. And this time, because there were no traitors left, there was no suspense at all. Contrast that with S2 with Harry eviscerating Molly. Finally, imo the two most irritating contestants won, especially Leanne. Hey guys, surprise, I'm not a nail technician, I'm an ex squaddie! Amazing. Oh and Charlotte, I'm not even Welsh! Most Welsh people pretend not to be Welsh. Fucking hell, pointless. Honestly, look at it objectively, they needlessly made this series shit. Hope they rethink the next one. Next up, the fucking Apprentice.

Ayatollah Hermione 14554
I watched Early Doors again and it really is a treasure. I love how the first episode is pretty much just establishing the characters. Not a chance the BBC would allow for that sort of patient writing anymore

Next up, the fucking Apprentice. I didn't like Leanne either. Didn't mind Jake though. I do think events conspired to make the seer a bad idea specifically for this season, but it might work in future. I wonder if they'll scrap it though. I think they should probably not fuck with the formula too much though. Definite signs this season that they might be tempted to tinker and they'll break it if they do too much. I didn't mind them not saying if they were a traitor or not in the final though. I don't think that made much difference. As soon as they all voted to banish in the final bit, that's the point they should have realised that they were all faithful. The fact they went again was baffling, but I suppose your head is just all over the place if you're in the show in that situation.

Not really, the traitor knows if they vote to end and the other two don't they are outed. So they vote to continue, and on it goes. And everyone knows the less people the more they pocket. Ultimately what you want for a suspenseful ending is TFF in the last 3 like last year. The seer doesn't help in a help in achieving this imo. To continue being interesting the production team also has to be careful in who they enrol. I think they did an okay job this year as before (save for Leanne who I really did not like), I just hope it doesn't descend into the usual Love Island crap. Toonpack 11159
SHOAH, 9.5 hr film made in 1985 covering the holocaust. 3 hrs in so far, chilling insight, interviews with survivors, guards and lots with bystanders who lived in the areas of the camps filmed in the towns/villages. Not exactly entertaining, but important. On iPlayer.

Been to Auschwitz/Birkenau twice (first with Mrs, then went back to take the kids) and have read a air few "survivor" books but this gives a whole different perspective which is not usually covered - the bystanders. The Polish train driver, extra wages paid in vodka as they had to be pissed to do the job.

Nearly gave up after E1 but glad I stuck with it once the characters were established, I enjoyed it. Some familiar faces from Shameless including a daisy fresh James McAvoy. References to Jimmy Savile.... When I watch stuff like this I just think where the fuck did the time go? Definitely simpler and happier times I think, although how much of that is me getting older or things getting genuinely worse I dunno.

Kid Dynamite 7541
Stumbled across Big Boys on channel 4. It absolutely nails the uni culture in the early 2000s It's got to be written by a 40 something bloke who went to a poly! Edit - Just checked and he's a 30 something bloke who went to a poly. I assume not much changed in the decade after I left in 2004. I look at the modern halls of residence that have popped up around town with envy mind. I didn't even have an aerial point or dial up connection in my room. Was lucky if you got 3 channels with a coat hanger sticking out the top of your telly! Renton 23458
Tell you what though, it got 7.7 on IMDb. Out of curiosity, I looked up what Saltburn got cos that ewerky lad is in both. 7.0. Saltburn was much more entertaining.
