It's good, but it's no Battle Beyond the Stars

Is that the one where celebrities pretend they’re famous singers?

The Boys season 1 and 2 were very good. But once you've seen season 1 and 2 you've basically already seen seasons 3 and 4.

Watched Michael Mann's Thief last night and still a classic.

False - season 3 had an opening scene of a shrinking supe inside his boyfriend's piss hole, sneezing due to too much toot - becoming normal sized and bursting said boyfriend in half. Season 1 and 2 had no such scene.

Also, herogasm - although that was a massive let down tbh.

Maid on Netflix is really good. About a lass who grabs her kid and runs away from her abusive fella in the middle of the night, and the nightmare of homelessness/navigating the US benefit/social housing/legal system that follows.

It sounds really depressing and at times it really is, but well worth a watch. Based on a book by the lass who it all actually happened to.

The main lass in it (who is brilliant) is 90s smokeshow Andie McDowell's daughter, and McDowell plays her mam in it. She's one of the few that hasn't pumped her face full of filler and botox as she's aged, and she looks all the better for it.

Has anyone watched Outlast on Netflix. A bunch of "survival specialists" dropped into the Alaska wilderness, with $1m for the last one standing.

I fucking HATE camping but I reckon I could have stuck it out for longer than some of the first ones to go. And these are meant to be little mini Rambos. One of them even calls himself Rambo.

Ah Alaska, home of my favourite Health and Safety sign:

Before descending stairs, check below for Polar Bear.

The new Time Bandits TV series gets a good write-up Here

Created by Taika Waititi, Jemaine Clement and Iain Morris ( wrote Inbetweeners).
 On Apple TV.

I loved the film, so I might drag myself away from the games console and give it a watch.

Taika Waititi stuff always gets a chance with me because of what we do in the shadows (even though it's been eclipsed by the TV series). Also, I have an unhealthy respect of anything that's been inside Rita Ora. I reckon I like her index fingers more than some of my relatives.

Absolutely superb to that.  Matt Whossname is mint in it, as are the other two actors.

Matt Berry, Kayvan Novak (Fone/facejacker), and the other lass. Lee Charnley is class in it as well.

How could I forget Penfold?

Might have to watch it again, if it’s still on iPlayer.

It's on Disney Plus, that's where I watch it - I tend to cycle through that, Archer and It's Always Sunny in perpetual cycles. I'm back on Archer at the minute - another absolute belter of a show.

Cheers, will look it up, and recommend it to Fist Jnr who has square eyes.

I recommend Brickleberry on Disney Plus as well - It got cancelled and turned into Paradise PD on Netflix but Brickleberry is far, far superior. If the youngin likes adult cartoons he'll probably love it as it's fucking stupid and vulgar in the best ways

There's talk of a second series, which is a misstep imo. The Shogun series showed there's a real appetite for well written, well acted (for the most part) historical dramas. That doesn't mean that there needs to be more of the same.

Anyone watching the Bear S3? Really struggling with this. Yes, I appreciate its supposed to be all angsty and arty, but it boring me to death and I am beginning to fucking hate each and every one of the characters. Unlikely to finish it. The show has had some brilliant moments, but overall I do not understand the hype about it at all or the high IMDB marks. Emperor's new clothes iyam.

I think I managed an episode and a half, just couldn't get past them being a bunch of shouty cunts.

@Gemmill We finally got round to Silo, loved it, thanks for the heads up.

Right up my street, dystopian Sci-Fi.

Hey, I recommended this months before Gemmill did. And for the record, Gemmill was also about 2 years late with his recommendations on "Maid". I didn't say anything cos I'm a modest kind of guy, but please do not thank the Gemmill.
