ewerk 31229
I gave up after the first season and have no desire to pick it up again. It’s not terrible but didn’t get me hooked.

I’m two episodes in and it’s a bit dull so far. It also seems to be aimed at teenagers or adults who still like watching ‘The Goonies’. Before I persevere, can anyone tell me a) does it get better, and b) is its target audience adults or children? My sister watches it so that's a good enough recommendation to knock it on the head. I reckon it would be right up @Kid Dynamites strasse but could be wrong?
Billy Whitehurst 933
Cheers lads, I’ll knock it on the head and stick to ‘Auf Weidersehn Pet’ when I need a dose of 80s nostalgia! My brother in law really likes ‘Stranger Things’ which, in itself, was a red flag I shouldn’t have ignored.
NJS 4411
I like Stranger things - one of those things that could have been wrapped up nicely in one season but they've built on it since - last season was excellent and I'll watch the new one when it's all released. I watch it because I'm somewhat obsessed by Winona, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else

Renton 22015
Just watched S4E1. Was actually pretty good. More Horror than its been previously, works better now the kids are older I think. Think the main characters are exactly the age I was then.

Kid Dynamite 7182
Captures the nostalgia of my childhood well, albeit some of those memories were through the medium of TV rather than being reflective of what life was actually like in Chester le Street in the 80s Arcades, Nintendo, Ghostbusters, A Team, Knight Rider, Goonies, Monster Squad, playing out on your bike, climbing trees, swimming in rivers, watching horror films on VHS when your parents weren't home etc. Definitely shades of Hellraiser and Nightmare on Elm Street in Series 4

It's Half highly derivative, but that's a good thing. Half life being an inspiration for some of the previous series oddly enough. Got to be honest, a middle aged Winona does nothing for me except make me feel old, but then Porno Bridget does that to me, so y'know. Alex 35616
Surely KD’s not old enough to be nostalgic for the 80s. Although 90s Chester-Le-Street was arguably indistinguishable from the 80s Edited June 11, 2022 by Alex

NJS 4411
Or you could say it shows she can act as she plays a bit of a mousey woman without much self-esteem and makes it believable.
