Park Life 71
Wenger's biggest transfer coup so far was the move of Andrey Arshavin from Zenit St. Petersburg in January, a move that confirmed that Arsenal can move in the transfer market when Wenger deems it necessary. However, chasing a raft of extravagantly expensive additions to the squad is simply not the way things are done at the Emirates Stadium, it seems. "If you want me to get the club bust, I am not the person to do that, that’s for sure," the Frenchman affirmed. "I believe every manager has the same problem, to manage within his own resources. I look now like I do not want to spend money, but I have nothing against spending money. "I just feel we have a team who can be very competitive and we want, as always, to manage this club within its resources, and I will do that." Needs to spend a bit more imo. They are certainly lacking some big game players.

I cannot see that happening whilst R. Madrid are the way they are. If it were only English clubs in debt, I could see Fifa attempting something, but not whilst Real are in hock so much as well (even more soon, when they sign Ronaldo and whoever else in the summer). Guest alex
Were that the case Andrew I could see the big clubs via Uefa just telling Fifa to fuck off. They need us more than we need them kind of scenario.

I truly wish fifa had the balls to do it, just to tell them "big clubs" to fuck off and start their own league if they wanted, it would never last, fans would never make all the journeys, and eventually they'd be replaced at the top of domestic leagues and the big players looking for actual competitions would just go to the new bigger clubs in those domestic leagues it might take a few seasons but the amount of power and money the big clubs supposedly control now is insane and it is quicky turning football into a farce

Uefa's power is basically all about the huge sums generated by the Champions League and the subsequent TV rights. Shit, isn't it?
