Craig 6700
The first pre-season game at SJP has been announced - but United won't be participating, as the stadium hosts a replay of the Italia 1990 England v Germany game. Players from the original game in Turin will be joined by other football personalities and celebrity ringers, with the Sir Bobby Robson Trophy up for grabs. The kickabout is scheduled for Sunday July 26th and all monies raise will go to benefit the work of the cancer research unit at Newcastle's Freeman Hospital of which the former Newcastle and England boss is patron. Kickoff is @ 6.15pm and tickets are on sale now priced £10 adults, £5 bairns online here More details at: www.sirbobbyrobsonfoundation.co.uk
Tom 14021
They are never the best matches but that's obviously not the point. I might have a wander along.
Guest alex
My Dad was on about this and reckoned the teams were supposed to be picked from the original 1990 WC squads. Presumably that's just the teams that start. Don't mind a few celebs playing anyway as that normally brings in the crowds a la 'The Match', which is what this is all about, obviously.
