Meenzer 15716
me too the only downside was the 2 couples behind me chatting through the first five minutes of it and the fanboy sitting two rows in front by himself, laughing a little too loudly at in jokes I keep telling Sam to tone that down when I let him out in public. The Fish 10963
Its the first time I've had two stereotypes substantiated in one movie-outing. "Black people talk through movies" "Trekkies have no friends, not even other Trekkies"

I think this statement is bollocks, I reckon you either just don't have any friends, or you're so far in the closet you're afraid there's a "CT's Coming out party" behind every door. Two men in their 40's somehow isnt. No closet for me. I would love to be gay. I would rush out the closet skipping and dancing, mincing to and fro while singing I am what I am...... Its on my bucket list? Can I just be gay without the whole anal bit?
Cid_MCDP 0
Haven't seen it. Don't really care about it either way. I was sort of interested with the trailers and stuff, but a couple of the reviews I read that actually mentioned the plot as opposed to, "ZOMG! STAR TRACK FOR THE REST OF UZZ!!!!11!" seemed to read like the current season of LOST- time traveling for no real reason other than time-traveling, deux ex machina in the form of once-in-a-lifetime type coincidences, holes big enough you could drive a truck through. I'm sure I'll check it out on DVD or On-Demand at some point, but I'm not going to sit in a theatre with a bunch of nerdsweat. Now, Terminator: Salvation? That I might be willing to sit in nerdsweat for...

tooner 243
saw it last night, definitely see it on a big screen with big sound, that was awesome..... however i had been hearing that reviewers had said it was the best sci-fi since the first Matrix to which i say BULLSHIT. while it was good, in Star Trek TNG fashion , they made the cliffhanger moments incredibly banal with "click of a button" solutions. That being said i did thoroughly enjoy the whole experience and some of the tongue in cheek puns "are you out of your vulcan mind?"... were excellent
The Fish 10963
I think that's what opened it up to less hardcore fans like me. Some of the In-jokes went over my head, but the asides like the "Vulcan mind" pun and the bit where spock casually tells a presumptive Kirk to get out of the chair were nice little moments. I don't think a dvd would do it justice, it needs the big screen, big sound experience imo.
